We're getting married in May and my h2b is a HUGE newcastle united supporter and is constantly saying how he wants a black and white theme!
Thing is, its may and i dont really want my bridesmaids in black! And also the mens suits if just black and white im worried itll look too sombre!
So im stuck on what to go!
My original thought was that i could incorporate light blue into this.... ie light blue cravats with blk n white suits.... light blue bridesmaid dresses but with black sashes.... but then i get stuck - would black bows around chair covers and black table runners look ok? Esp with the hint of light blue??
Has anyone got any ideas how i can subtly incorporate football into a wedding without it overpowering the whole thing?

We are having Black and White with a hint of red so you could introduce another colour such as pale blue to contrast it. My friend got married a few years ago and her Bridesmaid wore black prom style dresses with a red ribbon round the middle, red net underneath and red shoes and it looked stunning so you could do black dresses with a white sash and white shoes? xxx

My friend had black and white last year, it looked really beautiful. She had no other colours to break it up and it looked really modern.
What about taking the gold from the kit and bringing that in?
oh yeah OWB good idea! Milz he wont have red - its a football thing! but it does sound stunnin! x

Ok, not red then. I do like your pale blue idea though or just simple Black and white.... i think in a tastleful way it can look really modern and classic. Put your men in a tuxedo rather than a suit and tell your guests to wear black tie/cocktail xx

I'm having a black white and silvery/grey theme, my bridesmaids are in silvery/grey dresses with a black sash and the men will be in black suits with silver ties etc and i'm having black and silver sashes on the white chair covers and black, white and silver balloons around the reception room just to break the black and white up a little. x
