Well, this morning i had my first hair trial with my hairdresser. Please take no notice of my dark bits lol...im having a full head foils of very light blonde putting in 4 days before the wedding day so this dark hair won't be there :)
The 'issues' i have with this are...my curls are not quite right and have gone frizzy where she mucked about with them to much... Hopefully next time she will do it straight away. and use a serum instead of spray, my hair goes really dull with hairspray. :(
I need a 'bump it' as my hair does not respond to any amount of backcombing. I need some height towards the back of my style.
what do u all think, in honesty its not perfect :( any ideas how i can improve this? xx cheers ...feeling a tad deflated about it to be honest. Pics on next post x

Just doesn't look like its really doing anything to be honest :( flat n boring. ...im gonna get the bump thingie to go towards the back of my head.....but, it 's just not....weddingy enough for me i dont think :( i dont want it all up......and i dont wanna leave it down either lol... she will be coming to me to do my foils a few days before, so before she starts that im gonna ask her to have another go with it (using the bump thing_ see how that goes.......
i think if your heart is telling you these little things .. you need to tell the hairdresser so can do it how you want it .. buit i do think it looks lush hunny xx
looking forward to being Mrs Embo :)
CommentAuthorGazza 122
i did say to her, i need the height so will get that bump, and i also mentioned it might be a good idea if she got the hair pinned in place first, then made more of a wave with the hair, rather than a curl as such and done that last so it didnt go frizzy! I also said to her that when i curl my hair, i cant touch it afterwards other wise it goes all 'straw like'.....what else do u think i can do to make it look more 'done' ? xx
CommentAuthorJennyTembo
i think it will look fab hunny .. honest it looks gawjus in the pic so with all your finishing touches you will look stunning xx
looking forward to being Mrs Embo :)

i looks lovely but i think would look nicer if there was a little more height on top but otherwise looks fab xx
CommentAuthorHelenW
I agree it looks lovely, but maybe doesn't have the wow factor you are after. Definately needs the height added, so hopefully when you get the bump it should just finish it off nicely xx

I agree that it is gorgeous but maybe a bit more height would make it look more "weddingy". I really like it at the back and think it looks nice and curly. maybe you could spray it with some shine spray once its done to make it more shiny? x
CommentAuthorHeather
Love it at the back. But like you say it seems a bit Flat on top. Not sure what to say. But it looks nice
CommentAuthorGazza 122
Thanks for all your comments, had a really poo day yesterday lol....i feel better about it all today, and im sure with the bumpit, my foils all done and some shiney serum spray, im sure it will be alright :) xxx (i hope) xx
CommentAuthorVelcro
Have you got fine hair, because I have, and backcombing doesnt work on me either, it just makes my hair look frizzy instead haha. I have no idea what one of these bump things are, but I think with that bit of volume on top, your hair will look perfect, have another trial when you've had your roots done, otherwise you're only going to be fretting about it on the day

I think it looks lovely especially the back however i would ask her for another trail.... if you think its flat then tell her and she should have products/techniques that help with this xxx

I think it looks lovely, but no amount of others telling you that will make you change your feelings on being comfortable with it. Don't be afraid to tell her you aren't happy with it and the bits you want tweeking though xx

It looks lovely at the back, but yeah it could do with some height.
Just a hint that my hairdresser told me at my sisters wedding, don't wash your hair before you get this kinda thing done as it make your hair to soft to work with, not sure if you did or not... this might help with the back combing and height.

What do you think about adding a few clip in extensions hun to add thickness rather than length? I have fine hair too and thats what i'm doing. Had my hair trial and they worked a treat :) xx
CommentAuthorPB
It looks lovely at the back but i agree that a little more height would make it look even better xxx
CommentAuthorsuzky123
ok HONEST OPINION and opinion only.... I personally agree with you in that I dont think it does much to show you off. I had mine today and I didnt take pics admittedly but I think you are describing something similar to what I am having done. Ask them to put something on the top of your head to give it a bit of height and cover with hair. Also I see you have hair swooping to the side, I do too but I had mine lower down so its a more obvious sweep. You also need more of the curls coming down the side so they are not all at the back. Therefore, with just a bit of tweaking it will look amazing and as you described how you wanted it. go in for another trial and while she is there, tell them which buts you want tweaking and take more photies and get them to write it down.

CommentAuthorAbbieM
i agree it needs more volume, a bump it will work great, i hope your looking in pound places and not paying full price for one they are exactly same :-)
also someone mentioned about some clip in extensions, i think this is a good idea it will give the hairdresser more hair to play with when doing it and give a fuller look when its done.
if your not too keen on hairspray as it makes your hair look dull you can get hairsprays with shine spray in too, cos if you have just a serum it wont hold your hair enough, i know a really nice spray dunno if im allowed to name brands though?
but you defo need to tell her sooner rather than later, good luck hope some of what iv said is useful x

Ive changed my mind completely on the style now lol....the other one was just not sitting right in my ideal wedding hair......i think all up kind of loose curls with make me look more done and weddingy. Im usually good with my hair and wear half up stlyes alot to work, so with this updo, i can actually feel a bit different as its not something i can physically 'do' myself, Ive spoke to my hairdresser who is coming to blondify me on Tuesday and we are going to have a go with this at the same time :) xxx Thanks for everyones omments its much appreciated xx
CommentAuthorbridalmiss
Yes and to bulk it up a bit, get some clip in extensions to beef up your bun!
CommentAuthorGazza 122
yep have done - i bought a new set actually as ive 'over used' my others lol they are invaluble hey :)
CommentAuthorbiochrissy
i think it looks nice, and the back looks lovely but do agree it would probably look more glam with some volume in there. i woudn't worry about telling your hairdresser how you feel about the first trial and what changes you want making. any good hairdresser will take this and use it to give their client what they want. not everyone has the same vision in mind and it just takes a bit more explaining with some than others. but a second trial is defo a good idea if our not happy with the first xx

the loose bit at the back will be curled a little bit more, but still just softly, not like spirals. What do you recon?.....i have done this myself, as a worse case scenario. I told my previous hairdresser to jog on as couldnt do anything i wanted. :( Im meeting with a woman who is putting up my mums hair for the day, my mum did say she's very good, so tomorrow at 2pm, i will see if she can sort it out, if not...what do u recon, style 1 - loose, or style 2. 'the Do'.

i think the boho one really suits you but not keen on the spirals just sort of dotted on the top, personally i think they just dont seem like they're supposed to be there, they look much more fitting in 'the do'. x
CommentAuthorShazk
Well done u, wish i could do things like this with my hair but it just wont play.

I love the half up do, so much better than what your hairdresser managed.
If only life could be one long tea break
CommentAuthorVickie
Both look fab but I prefer the do as its a bit more weddingy and I feel hair down is something you could do anytime. Def better than what the hairdresser.
Well done on doing it yourself, I struggle to put hair in a tidy ponytail.

I love the do hun, it's so pretty xx
CommentAuthorcharlscott
As a hairdresser myself I just don't get how she struggled with the first style in the first place. With the right hairdresser they WOULD be able to put volume in the top without a bump it or anything like that! my hair is incredibly fine too, but i Have no trouble of getting the volume in it. What I would really advise is if you are wanting the curls to the top of your head maybe get some matching hair extension pieces to incoperate with the design and is will most certainly make your hair fuller and thicker! I don't mean spend I fortune on hair extensions, literally get some off cuts so you can pin into your hair to play around with....sorry for the rant but it drives me insane when hairdressers can't do it or don't get your vision! I had a bride the oer day and she wanted simple natural curls, where she had gone previously made such a mess of it and refused to do it for her wedding which was 4 days before!!!! Luckily we were able to rescue her!! Xxxx
