Hi all ,
This is more of a ahhhhh moment really Basically this evening we will be meeting our priest for the first time about discussing getting married in church and I'm worried he will say no , really I can't think of any reason why he would but I am in panic stage ! I am not baptised but my H2B is , I do believe in God and most of my family were catholic but my parents wanted me to choose when I was old enough whether or not I got baptised and for some reason I have never got round to doing it .
Me and H2B have never been married before as I know this can be an issue and we have no kids either. I recently visited the church and picked up and delivered a parish register so we are within parish area which the priest recommended to do before doing anything else .

One thing I want to add is something happened a few years ago and this means sometimes in stressful situations I forget words or I just don't stop talking which I'm worried I will go completely off track and say something wrong .

Like I said this is more of a vent thread but was wondering if any of you guys felt like this first time meeting priest ? Is there anything you would advise with this first meeting ?

I'm not really much help as I'm not having a priest or religious ceremony, but what coud you say that old make him say no? Like you said, you just never got round to being baptised, it's not as if you don't want to. If the priest was to say no because you're not baptised, it sounds as if it would be doing you a favour. Either way, I really wouldn't worry. You'll be fine :) x

Just relax. Priests are generally nice guys who want to help. It shouldn't be stressful. The priest will check your details, and check that at least one of you is baptised catholic. He might ask you if you're considering being baptised, mainly in case it's something he can help you with, but it doesn't matter for the purposes of getting married as long as your H2B is baptised catholic. You'll probably have to say that you are willing to raise any children that you have in the Catholic church. It's nothing to worry about.

Thanks both I think it me worrying as everything we want so far we have managed to get so worry something will go wrong , this particular church is special to my gran parents and also my mum went to the catholic school next door so with them all passed away it will feel like they will be there if that makes sense lol

Will be seeing him in an hour so fingers crossed

It went fine he is a nice person and has talked everything through with us . I was so worried as like I said everything seemed to be going so well and thought the main part some how going wrong . So looks like my dream wedding to my dream man is becoming true .

Yeah date fine and time what we wished , we have to attend classes and stuff but that is fine for us also he mentioned the fact I'm not baptised can be an issue but he said he agrees that we can marry in that place which is fab . My H2B was calm about it and told me not to worry but really couldn't help it . Priest also mentioned we should go to reg office to get licences so getting excited lol x
