We have decided we would like to have the tables named after famous couples in films. The tables are very large and we have worked out we need 4 guest tables. We have decided on:
Johnny and Baby - Dirty Dancing Sam and Molly - Ghost Edward and Vivien - Pretty Woman Maverick and Charlie - Top Gun
I like the idea of the centre piece to reflect the films so, so far I have got
Johnny and Baby - Watermelon slices Sam and Molly - half made clay vase Edward and Viv - A heel, some floss and some fake cash Maveric and Charlie - some sunglasses and a toy plane
But I don't know if it would look right or whether you girls can think of an alternative centrepiece. HELP. lol

I cant remember the names, but what about casablanca, my fair lady and an affair to remember (classic romance films) Also thought about something like thelma and louise.....not a couple as such but pretty much.
Moulder and scully? - with a little toy alien or space ship Ariel and Eric - with some seashells.

oh that's so creative! what were the couple called out of the notebook? (centre piece a note book!) and the time travellers wife? (a clock?) and my favourite film is robin hood prince of thieves so maybe robin and marian and have a bow and arrow?

After searching for the average price of a bag of clay I have now decided to scrap the Sam and Molly (ghost) table and its now Jack and Rose (Titanic) Just found a black bust style necklace display and a heart of the ocean chain for under £10.00 happy days.

Did you need to find a bag of clay? Could you not use cheap modelling clay in terracotta colour from a kids craft shop? Or make your own modelling dough, bake it and paint it to the shape / colour that you want?

I think thats a fab idea, but mayb put the things in a big glass bowl ontop of a small pile of clear beads to prop them up so people dont fiddle or eat the water melon then mayb put write on the back on the name cards an explanation of what it means. It will look great as a centre piece i think! good luck xx

Nice idea tpinkb. I'm actually putting the items on a mirror instead as some of the stuff would be too large to display nicely. The tables will be named after the couples so I don't think they need any more explaining really. I LOVE the Bridget jones idea. Didn't think of that one. Although I have 100% settled on dirty dancing, pretty woman, topgun and titanic. xxx

You could also pick a quote from each of the movies, something love-related and romantic :) Could have one per table, or on the back of the place-cards if you're having those x
