    Hey all,

I am new to this site and hope someone can help.
I want to get married abroad in Rhodes in 2014 but don't know whether to arrange it myself, get a planner from abroad or book it all through a travel agent.

    Any ideas???

    Thanks :) xxx

get a wedding planner from over there, as brilliant as travel agents can be, unless they have been there then they are not going to know.

We got married in Vegas and did it all ourselves. It was exciting finding all our own suppliers etc., but it was also tough. I'd guess it would be tougher as there would be a possible language barrier to overcome, but the sense of satisfaction and achievement at arranging everything yourself is great. I can see how it would be easier to get a planner involved though x

We're getting married in Kos and have booked the wedding through a wedding planner.

With travel agents they don't give you the costs of optional extras such as hair/make up, flowers, cake etc until you've committed yourself to the booking. By doing it yourself/through a wedding planner you'll know exactly how much everything will cost beforé you book.

Also for 2014 weddings, you won't be able to book with travel agents until the 2014 prices go on sale in April 2013.

if you found a wedding planner in rhodes, you could book and start planning your wedding NOW, then book a holiday through the travel agent (or however you normally book it) next year when the dates are released. plus, you will get a lot more for your money than going through travel agent. look about fb as well for groups about rhodes weddings/brides. they can usually help a lot with recommendations and it's real people who tell the truth!! :D

Theres a lady on here called Racheymoo who has just booked her wedding in Rhodes for 2014 through a wedding planner out there. May be worth having a search for her as I am sure she will have plenty of information she can share with you xxx
