Hey ladies, I got engaged in May of this year as I actually proposed to my boyfriend. I'm wanting help on how to choose a date and also budget as I don't want to spend more than £5,000 at least as I just want a small close wedding and not a lot of fuss. Any advice would be great!

Welcome and congratulations Leila!
I am on a budget of around £5000 and it is easy to stick to if you shop around for things, use the bay as much as you can and DIY things where you can or get other people to help! Decide what the most important things to you are whether that be the venue, dress etc, these are the things you shouldn't compromise on, then you can get everything else for as cheap as possible. To save costs we are having an evening only weedding so getting married at 4.30 then going straight into the evening reception. This cuts out the cost of the wedding breakfast.
With regards to the date do you have an idea of a season or month you would like to get married? If you are trying to stick to a budget you might want to avoid summer or get married during the week rather than a Saturday as this is usually cheaper. I am getting married on a Saturday though and it's the same price but that's because the only cost I have to pay for the venue is the food, the hire is free, so it would probably depend on your venue xx

Hi Leila welcome and congratulations on your engagement!
To save money you will find weekday weddings are cheaper or go for a fri or sunday there cheaper too! If 5,000 is your budget then that's your budget, it can be done you just have to think of what you can do your self, invites, favours ect can be made by yourself that saves a good part of the budget, instead of a wedding breakfast have afternoon tea or a buffet, think of numbers of guests, there's a brides checklist that will help you too xx

Welcome and congrats! If you fancy a winter wedding some venues offer great off peak prices, you could probably get a package for a small number of people. Then just shop around for the rest. Decide what is important to you and allocate a bigger portion of the budget to those things xx

Welcome and congratulations.
Check out the brides checklist to get you started.
Consider a mid-week wedding between October and March for the best deals, generally most suppliers are cheaper during those 6 months, especially mid week.
