I am hopefully getting married in November 2014 and am having a nightmare picking a theme!
My lovely fiancé, Ryan, is happy to go along with everything luckily. We have decided that we are naming our tables after some of the most romantic cities in the world as our day is going to be very traditional and no doubt romantic.
The problem I am having is that I can't seem to pick a theme that sticks. We started out with ivory and rose pink, which is what I wanted forever, but then the idea of pastels really appealed to me. So for a while it was ivory and pastel colours. But pastel colours are more associated to Spring weddings, not Winter weddings, which is supposed to have lots of white and icy blues, etc. I like the idea of a proper Winter wedding too, but nothing seems to be standing out for us.
What kind of themes did/are you guys have/having? Could you give me any suggestions?
Thankies!
Steph

We are having chocolate and orange in march, lots of people said they are autumnal colours but they are the colours we like, as orange is different. Why not have red and green if u want winter as its almost Christmassy colours... Just an idea???

I think you should ignore the season for your colours and have what YOU want and not what other people will think is associated with winter.. You don't have to represent winter with your colours, you can add other wintery things like snowflake shapes on your invites or snowflake sequins on the table, Christmas songs played at your evening do, fake snow, all sorts :-) White and icy blue kind of sounds like the ice queens lair lol.. Xxx
I can't wait to become his Wife :-)

@MrsH-2B: I didn't think of snowflake decorations and things! And regarding the ice queen's lair, that's exactly what I thought lol!!
@NearlyMrsFountain: One of the venues we looked at provided a Christmas tree as part of their November/December package, so if we did go with them I think I would definitely consider a Christmasy theme.
@Princess2be: Oh my goodness!! Ryan would have to keep telling me to stop stressing out if I was in that position lol! I am sure you will figure it out soon and your day will be amazing!
we are having a vintage/rustic look. our colour are ivory, pastel pink (romance pink) and antique gold! LOVE the idea of a christmas theme, xxx
Can not wait until I marry the man of my DREAMS

Lol I think I'm going to thanks to you ladies! xD Ryan agreed aswell, he said I shouldn't change it just because it isn't the norm, though he likes the idea of winter decorations :D

I WAS getting married at christmas period, mainly because the venue is decorated for free! I was going for trad crimbo, jewel greens and rich reds, lots of ivy and holly in the bouquet etc (again free from my garden lol) And if you buy this Jan for next year you can save money. BUT NOW I'm going for a victorian theme, with the guests wearing suits with top hats and spangly waistcoats and corsets etc. In short, as everyone else has said, do what you want, its your day, enjoy it! Good luck! xxx

bumped the official color thread for you, there's a lot of ideas on there. IMHO I don't think you need to worry about the seasonality of your colours, have what you want & like. x

Yeh I think u should keep the colours u want rather than dictating to colours of the season...ppl have Christmas themed weddings in July so nothings stopping u having pastels in November ...they'd still look great teamed with fur shrugs and fur hand muffs x

I was thinking about fur shrugs earlier, I saw a picture of a bride and her bridesmaids taken in the snow and they were all wearing them. I absolutely loved it!
Thank you all tons for the advice <3 We decided to stick to the colour scheme and Ryan told me to stop being silly and just go with my first idea xD
