My Dad is getting married on the 8th of December, he only told us two weeks ago and has been with his fiance for a short amount of time. I have my own feelings about that but i'd rather not voice them. Anyway, they're on a very small budget and i'm looking for some savvy advice from you ladies. Any tips on saving money but making their reception look gorgeous would be greatly appreciated. I want my Dad to feel proud on his wedding day and for her family to welcome him into theirs. Thanks girlies xx

Finally marrying the love of my life !!

If its vintage, then mix and match vases and trinket boxes and crystal ornaments from charity shops, fill with fake flowers or scrunched up fabric and fairy lights.
Fairy lights and balloons have big impact for low cost

Arent you a sweetie, putting your dads feelings before your own ....he must be very proud of you
Have you tried any local markets? You can usually get cheap lace and fabrics that can be used to help decorate the chairs and tables?

Get rid of the over priced sit down meal (if a venue will allow it) and ask them to do a buffet instead. Give guests a bar token on arrival at the reception instead of paying for over-priced corkage fees or house wines.

Look on the tree of gum, bay of e, local book of face pages, charity shops (many hold wedding things in the back rooms for certain times of the year and displays). Also look in £stores. Use crepe paper ribbons for the decor you can get every colour and it can look very lovely and traditional and balloons etc maybe.

Your Dad should be so proud of you for the way the handled his anouncement, and you should be proud of yourself. I hope you all have a lovely day. Making your own invites, name cards and holders and table decorations saves loads, our wedding is on Dec 12 and I have used xmas decorations, like gorgeous red and cold bells stood with the the name cards slotted into the metal ring, vases I got from charity shops filled with red and gold baubles and pine cones they look amazing. large wine glasses again from charity shops or A s d a do extra large 4 in a box for £4 with clear beads and a candle sat on a mirror. Holly and mistletoe looks lovely on the table too. I have made all our stuff for our wedding and its saved us loads and I've had so much fun searching the £ shops and charity shops and bay of e and making them all. We aren't having a disco or entertainment, we have made a playlist on my laptop and will be playing wedding themed games throughout the night x
