I am In need of some more professional advice. I am having my hair trial on Saturday morning and my hairdresser (a family friend) has said not to wash my hair on the morning, only the night before, because of styling etc which I understand. However, I have extremely oily skin and hair and if I wash it the night before I will have really greasy hair the next day, which I am stressing about. I have told the stylist this but she said we will use dry shampoo which always causes my head to itch.
I need more advice. Can I wash my hair on the day, but with no conditioner and which products helps to keep hair in place. As my stylist is quite old fashioned and loves hair mousse, hair spray!

have you checked to make sure that the shampoo/conditioner is best suited to your hair etc. if your not shame you cant try another brand type before then to maybe slow the overnight oil production.
If you are, and i were you, i'd be sneaky and wash it that morning yeah before she gets their lol and not use product like you suggested.
sorry im not much more help hun.x

Well, tell her that. I would wash mine, because I would hate feeling uncomfortable about myself on my wedding day :) Tell her you want to wash your hair and if there's anything you could use on your hair to help the styling. There are a few powders that could help you :)

I would defo check out the shampoo you are using, I find some causes me to have greasy hair.
I would suggest getting in touch with her today and saying that you have this problem, she may be able to work with it. Does this mean you wash your hair everyday?? This could also be a cause of it.

for my trial I washed my hair the night before and didn't put any product in it so it was big and fluffy when she turned up! But they can work magic so I wouldn't worry too much :)
I hate dry shampoo too makes my head itch, maybe a different shampoo would help and I find n1ox1n helps this problem and its good for your hair promotes growth etc it is expensive compared to generic shampoos but its salon stuff but its brilliant.
For tomorrow why don't you wash your hair early as poss, don't put any products on and back comb it all and brush it out to give it a bit of roughness xx

Check the shampoo you're using, I found that swapping for a mild shampoo from the b00t5 d3rm@c@r3 range worked a treat for me.
In my experience whenever I've had my hair done nicely for an event I.e. when I've been a bridesmaid or when I got married that the stylist doesn't want conditioner used because it's harder for them to have the style hold in place.

Deffo try out shampoos before the day to see if it's possible to leave it to just be washed the night before. Are you having your hair up? If so even if its a tiny bit greasy it wouldn't show with all the work the hairstylist will do to it. Freshly washed hair is a lot more difficult to work with!

thing im wondering does this mean you wash your hair every day? if so this is why our hair is so greasy, start on a day your not doing much, try to only start washing your hair every other day as washing it everyday takes away your natural oils from your scalp our which causes it to react by over compensating, and creating more oil which gives you oily hair.
try and lay off start by only washing every other day and even every third day unless you have had a very active day (gym or swimming etc)

I'd say try washing on the day but don't use conditioner or any hair products.
I understand your predicament as my hair gets really greasy too. It's not a case of me washing it too much - it just gets greasy really easily and I have greasy skin anyway, so I presume my scalp is the same! I wash mine every other day but on the 2nd day it is greasy, so I have to shove it up to try and disguise it.
Let us know how it goes :)

When I was a bridesmaid for my friend I was told the same, and I have the same problem. I did eventually wash it in the morning and nobody batted an eyelid so I'd imagine you will be fine xxxx

Okay, firstly, check the products you use on your hair, this could attribute to the oilyness. I use to be the same with L'@real shampoos/conditioners but now use T!g! Bed He@d for coloured hair which smells like Butterscotch and my hair is nowhere near as bad. I use to have to wash my hair every day as well if I didn't tie it up or use dry shampoo on 2nd day. Now I can go 3-4 days and just pop my hair in a bonnet for the shower. Secondly... How much do you touch your hair when its down? The more you touch it the more oils are stimulated from your scalp so if your have a tendency to run your hands through it alot, try and stop.
Thirdly. Dry shampoo is also a solution for on the day styling for those who wash their hair on the morning. So they may end up using it anyway.
Are you having hair up or down?
