Hi SennaH. Don't panic, we all go through this at some point. You may need to make some small adjustments, but you can still have your wonderful wedding. There are lots of money saving tips and some money making tips too. I'll try and find the threads and bump them for you babe x

You never know what is around the corner. Maybe sell stuff you do not need, on the bay or boot sale, get things cheap from the bay and try to make as much as you can yourself.

Look out for bargains. There are some great package deals out there. Plan on getting bits here and there to try and spread the cost too. Cut costs where it least matters and this way you may still be able to afford your dream day xx

me too, 2 years to go but he's now not working so saving has just about stopped. it's tough but we are finding some good bargains as we have so much time until the wedding we can buy little bits at a time and try making things ourselves too. as long as you stick together and remember the day is about the two of you and therefore will be amazing whatever the trimmings :)

Im sorry to hear that your going through a bad time at the moment, and i know how you are feeling
we have been saving for the past 2 years and theres always ways around spending a fortune....Booking ahead in advance helps as you pay this years rates instead of the next, also you can pay in instalments which is an absolute godsend, Get involved in the making of things....bouquets as an example....we were going to have fresh flowers for everyone...but it was £45 each for my BM....so we bought 4 silk flower bouquets for £10 and we are going to glitz them up....little things like that really do help.

You are not alone in this worry at all hun so dont be frightened to share ur worries and concerns x
i worry about this all the time like U have 2014 wedding but starting worrying about finances last week and wondering if it will happen but if U are sensible and set a realistic budget U can have ur dream day and all us girls want our dream day but like Kelly says its about U and h2b and that's all that matters.

Have a look around before u buy anything, always try and barter and do as much as u can yourself.

    We all here for u x x

I went through the same a couple of weeks ago. My parents initially said they would pay the venue costs and we would cover everything else. Their part would be £6000 and my mum had put some of their savings away for it. Since its been booked, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer (now in remission), had a tax bill for £16000 and has been made redundant. I'm heartbroken for them both because I'd never expect them to put a penny in the direction of the wedding now. They've said the money is there and they will still pay but after talking to h2b we have made some cuts to the day and in general, we were going to get a new car but that can wait and we will put off buying a house for a couple of years. You will amaze yourself at how capable you are of coming up with the money when it means that much to you. With 21 months there are lots of bits you can get each month and there are lots of threads on here with money saving and DIY tips. It's been a great help to me and it will be to you. Don't get yourself stressed out about it. You are at the same stage as me when I started planning except I'm £6k worse off than I thought. You have a realistic budget and you will be able to work to it. You will be surprised at how much you can do on the cheap.

In addition to that we are all here, going through it with you so don't be afraid to moan about things even if you think you are being silly, you more than likely have the same groans as everyone else. X

    I can't wait until 29/06/2013

I think everyone hits this wall somewhere along the planning, keep your chin up and go back to the planning spreadsheet/book whatever it is and see where you can DIY or make some cuts xx

We're in the same situation and like everyone else has said you need to see where you can make cuts.
We sat down and worked out what was coming in and then all the bills that went out. We've set up one account which is just for the bills (all bills are dd) and we pay the exact amount required for the bills.
We've then got a second bank account which we put the rest of the money in. We use this for food shopping and petrol. We're putting £400 straight into another bank account, and giving Mum control of the card. We don't have online banking for it so we can't just transfer the money across if we fancy a splurge. Giving my mum control means if we get desperate for it we can transfer the money but Mum has to approve it (kind of!).
We've gone to a website and sold all dvds/cds (copied the cds we want to keep). the money from that is going straight to the wedding fund. I'm also selling lots of other lil bits - i have a huge amount of handbags which never get used. all proceeds go the wedding.
We're making a lot of things towards the wedding and found a lot of family members have secret skills which come in handy - my sis is helping with the stationary, the other sister making the jewellery for me and bridesmaids..
Can definitely find lil bits which help. As trhe big supermarket says - Every Little Helps.
Oh and Bay of E should become your new best friend if its not already :) You find some great deals on there! xx

Have you tried to negotiate with your dream venue? In the current climate they are probably struggling to get regular bookings. If you don't ask you don't get. Just start by asking them what is the best price they cab do!
