Just been to have my hair done in my usual salon and took my tiara and veil to try with my hair as suggested by my hairdresser.I was telling her that i was in a quandry about my hair on the wedding day as i am getting ready at the venue(20 mins drive away) and she said she would shut the shop and come to the venue and do mine and daughters hair!Plus she is only going to charge £25 for me and £15 for my daughters,I was so pleased i hugged her and nearly cried! She must think i am a bit mad but i am just so happy that someone i know and feel comfortable with will be doing my hair and it seems like a massive bargain to me! xxx

I thought the same as Gracelet, I'm glad it wasn't a horror story. It's always nice to hear of people who are not trying to cash in on our weddings plus this woman knows you and your hair.

I feel a bit obliged to ask my h2bs sister to do my hair as she is a hairdresser, although I've seen her cut his and she's a bit haphazard to say the least. (and he only has it grade 1 all over!!) H2b says that it will be nice to make her feel included but I'm scared what she might do to my barnet!! LOL! x

persoanlly, on something soooo important I wouldnt. Just say that you are booking your normal hairdresser as he knows what works well and what doesnt as he is USED TO your hair. Otherwise you can say that it makes sense to use the make up artist as they offer competitive prices.

Ooh cb thats a tricky one.You could say that you don't want to upset your hairdresser plus you don't want sil2b running around after you when she will need to be getting too.You want sil2b to be able to relax and enjoy the day too as a special and valued guest-not one of the staff! Sound convincing? xxx

I think I will have to suck it up and tell H2B that I wouldnt want to stress his sis out by her doing my hair. She doesn't drive and is staying at the venue (I'm at my ma's) so that would be hassle her getting to me and she will need time to get ready. I think I will be honest as well and say she's never done my hair before so I don't think she'd know what to do with it as my hair is so thick and umanageable! cb i think you will get away with it especially as she doesn't drive so is pretty much stuck at the venue and you cannot be expected to go running around on your wedding day whew! I think as brides we get so used to people trying to make a few quid from us that is genuinely lovely when people are just nice,i have been in a good mood all day because of it xxx
