Hi, I need a little help with a decision.

I can't find any shoes that I like to go with my dress. I want satin shoes as my dress is silk, but I don't know what colour. My dress says it is ivory, but if so then it is a very pale, almost white ivory. But I don't like any bridal or ivory/white shoes that I have found. Also on a very limited budget.

Would it look silly if I were to wear navy blue satin shoes under my dress? BMs are in navy blue (military wedding) and so is H2B (uniform) and all men in the bridal party. If they were navy blue then I would wear them again, but wouldn't if they were ivory. But would they look silly?!

I've asked my 3 BMs. Only one has replied and said she thinks it would look silly. She says wait and keep looking for ivory/white ones as I have till December.

What does anyone else think? Navy blue satin shoes under an ivory/white dress, good or bad idea? Thank you!!! xx

I think it would look lovely but actually its your choice. I didnt want ivory shoes either as never wear them again so im wearing red shoes which match the wedding colours and add some personality to it.

I don't think it would look silly at all. Lots of brides are now opting for coloured shoes!

It would be weird if you wore blue shoes but the rest of the colour theme was something else, such as sage green.
If they look good, feel comfy and are WHAT YOU WANT, then go for it! At least people will actually notice them on the day (and it is your day to be centre of attention with yout husband after all!!) and you can wear them afterwards :-)

I don't think it will look silly as I am doing exactly the same! I have navy lace shoes with an ivory dress and my bms are navy with ivory lace shoes - it looks fab! Stick with your idea and I'm sure it will look lovely xxx

Personally, I don't like ivory shoes either, and love coloured shoes. Mine are silver as I only ever wear black/silver/grey shoes, but I LOVE a 'proper' colour; I think it looks great in photos. And because your bridesmaids are in navy I think it will tie in really well.

I think it's a fab idea hun and is very popular at the moment. Is ur dress still at the shop? If so either take some navy shoes there or try some on there if they have them. Look on bridal sites for shoes as a lot can be hand dyed to the colour I want. The one so have are by panorox or how ever u spell it and they can be hand dyed and are satin x

I think it would look lovely. Many brides are now doing the coloured shoes rather than the standard bridal ones. I had green shoes.

I think it would look ok hun, they will match the lads and its nice to be a little bit different. If you find an ivory pair that you prefer before the day then great, but if you have a navy pair that you love now then thats great to. X
