I went to the one at the nec in october - it was awful
Incredibly stressful, way too many people and at least 50% of the stalls were just shops selling sample dresses
Almost no BM dresses to look at and very little in the way of accessories which is what i mainly went for - we left after about an hour
I am quite shy and not very forceful, so it really wasnt the place for me
    We left after an hour

There are so many people out there who will tell you
    what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!

I went to the NEC one in March last year and it was awful. I fyou can get the tickets for cheap, then it's a day/half day/couple of hours out, otherwise I wouldn't bother. It's massively over-priced. Also I ended up writing a letter of complaint to the organisers about invalid/out of date discount codes from companies that were there as well as atring of other things. Just to warn you...

Yep - they offered me free tickets to the next one, which I declined as I'd have been married before the next one came round in October. And to his credit, he did contact the supplier that I had an issue with giving out out of date discount vouchers and they sent a new one out directly to me but I'd bought my BM dresses and the mothers had bought their outfits by then, so that was a complete waste of time and effort.
There was an anorexic looking model there which I raised my concerns about too and their response was that she wasn't booked for the show but as another model had become sick that day, she was a last minute stand in. Even so, I still don't think she should have been on that catwalk. My 7 year old niece was quite upset by seeing her.

Crikey! So the first anorexic model had obviously collapsed from lack of food and they had to roll out another one...nice. At least he responded I suppose, but still not on, I'm sure the tickets to go to it were expensive enough, you don't expect that kind of thing to happen.

I was going to go to the National wedding show but I dont think I will bother now.

    hmmm. your comments are interesting.

I'll check out the one of 4th feb as I don't want to waste lots of money on something rubbish. my mum would be coming down from glasgow especially for it so the last thing I want is a bunch of anorexic models and overpriced things I don't need!

Gracelet after your mum comes down for the one in London you can scoot back up to Glasgow with her for the one on the 18th/19th! Think I remember someone saying there's one on the eleventh too...

I think I paid something like £16 for the three adults (I took MiL and SiL as a kind of bonding thing) and I think about £8 for my niece's ticket as she was only 7 at the time, PLUS I had an accident a week before and was on crutches so I had to hire a mobility scooter as I really couldn't face the crowds on crutches - that was another £15! Then I paid for lunch for us all there. We had a sandwich and crisps each as well as a drink (non alcoholic) and I didn't get much change out of £30, so it wasn't a cheap day out by any means.

Who went? I braved the snow and rubbish DLR service yesterday and went for the morning.

Took one of our best men so everyone kept presuming he was husband to be. Didn't like the presumptive approach of most people at the stands- even when I was on my own, it was all questions about my h2b. When i responded, I don't have a h2b, but a WIFE to be, they had no idea how to react!

They really are alienating some of the market by making all their literature "bride and groom" angled. Funnily enough, the only person who was careful with her choice of language was a lesbian too. Good gaydar considering I am massively femme :-)
