Some of you may know H2B and I are going off on a cruise to be married.... It ended up being the best thing with one thing and another with familys and all that other rubbish that goes along....

So we are now back thinking about hold a party on the Friday when we get back.... (yay, another chance to wear my dress.. If I can still fit into it after being all inclusive on a cruise for two weeks)

so..... what do we call it...?

It wouldnt be a reception.... and what does Wedding reception mean any way??
it will be like the evening bit after the wedding..

We still will have a cake, first dance and buffett type food... we might even had speeches as Best man ect will not be going with us....

So ladies.. what do you think we should call it...I'm sure that its been done loads of time before...??

I think most people would still call it an evening reception, though you could address it as something like
"SuffolkSteph & H2B (but your names obv lol) would like to invite you to an evening of drinks and dancing to celebrate their marriage"

We are doing the same thing as we are getting married in USA and have put on our evening invites wedding celebration then just worded it we would like everyone to come and celebrate our wedding ours is 3 weeks after our wedding due to us tagging the honeymoon on then wanting a week to recover lol so we went down that route but it is still a reception so i dont think it really matters what ya call it hun xx

Do it - I'd love to see invites with your UKB handle & H2B on it :D

Basically 'Reception' is the traditional term used for a party but nowadays it's only really used in relation to weddings
And I came up with a good suggestion - go me!! lol

I thought wedding reception ment that its a way for familys to welcome you into married life and welcome you to each other's familys? x

My friends did a similar thing last year and they descirbed the party as a 'celebration of their marriage' as it was a party for all their friends to celebrate them gettng married.
