I have had acrylic nails for years now and love them, always different colours and styles and my nail technician is a good friend and enters competitions using my nails.

Do i go simple and classic for the wedding or something more fun? Im not a fan of the normal french manicare as normally have a bit of glitter or one finger painted so look different. Or do i go and have them red which is our wedding colour? What are you all having done? I had dirty unkept nails espeically on your wedding day as everyone will be peaking at your hand to see the ring.

Love the 2nd picture hun, that's really pretty! My nails are really weak and flake easily due to all the handwashing and alcohol hand gel we have to use. If they get to any length I think I'll be going for natural but I do love the design in pic 2 xx

    i love the first photo!!

i don't know what i'm going to do. i have really nice nails and they grow really fast and strong. i don't want to leave them bare, but i suck at applying nail varnish!!

i thought about choosing a colour to match my wedding colours, but decided against it

How about getting a bridesmaid to paint them for you or a manicare a few days before... i am not so sure on red as such a bold colour.

iluvcakes - if you started to have Gel Polish done about 8 weeks before the wedding you could grow yours for the wedding. The Gel Polish strengthens you natural nails enough to stop them breaking and look lovely :-)

I am a Nail Tech and most brides have simple french nails, usually in Shellac/ Gel Polish.

Its all about personal preference but personally I want the attention on the dress rather than my nails :-)

Of course i want the attention on my dress but my nails will still be looked at as in the pictures and will be some close-ups of our rings so need my nails to be perfect too.

    I voted classic manicure.
I have toyed with the idea of coloured nails but i dont want to look back at the photo's in yeard to come and regret it.
I think classic manicures are used the most as they are a fail safe and will never date

Everyone is different though and as nails are your thing, you should go with what you want x

I voted for the ones in pic 1 they are lovely and not the "boring" french manicure I think coloured nails are a no go for a wedding it should be kept more natural or natural with sparkley bit :-) xxx

I'd go for something that is YOU.

I'm having mine red but I either don't wear anything or red. And never anything else as I prefer my natural nails and very short. French manicure is not my thing, I don't like the look of it.

Just a short while ago there was a thread on here where everyone posted how they will have their nails. American manicure was the winner for most.

I have been having my extensions done with black and silver glitter in the tips it looks gorgeous and a big difference from the usual american polish I usually go for.

If you did want red to go with your colour scheme you could have red and silver or silver and black glitter xx

    Planning to perfection

Im thinking of maybe a french tip but with a red glitter line on the smile or a red gem on my ring fingers on each hand. You are all right about it looking dated as i change my nails that often but agree french always looks classic.
