Wondered if anyone was having something else instead? The only thing I can think of is bubbles... It's not exciting or different so I would really appreciate any ideas.

How about sparklers?? Or, Streamers?? With the streamers at least you can colour co ordinate them!!
Or, be completely different and have a guard of honour!!!

one of my friends went to a wedding and they had a basket full of paper aeroplanes with the couples initials on instead of confetti, i think thats quite cool. you can get eco friendly alternatives, like bird seed, lavender and leaves. im hoping to make some ribbon sticks for guests at mine as none of the venues we looked at would allow confetti either.
2009 met my boy.
2011 had our baby girl.
2013 had our baby boy.
2016 we'll live happily ever after.

you could ask whether you can have petals. ive heard of quite a few having bubbles. maybe you could get one of those bubble machines too so there are loads of them? x

Our venue didn't allow confetti but did allow rose petals as they are biodegradable. So I got a whole load of dried petals in my colours and mixed them up and put them into little cones.

Did they say why you're not allowed? Ours is because it's too messy inside (fair enough) and because of the lovely grounds outside but we are allowed freeze dried confetti as it's biodegradable. Actually a great option as you can buy them for your colour scheme. I like bubbles though would be great for photos? X

Wands! Petals, bubbles... I have bubbles and homemade wands made with pancake sticks and the leftover ribbon and lace from my flowers and table centre pieces... So it all matches!!!
And we lived happily ever after!

I made my own confetti .... I dried loads of petals , cheap too as I asked all my friends to save any rose heads for me .
hmmmm, I actually want bubbles.... I run a driving school, named after bubble - as all of our guests know I thought it would be pretty and novel, im yet to purchase them though, does anyone know of any cheap sites for bubbles?

Mrs C to be...land of the pound!! They do small bubbles pack of 6, or those large wands 2 pack if you want big bubbles! x

bubbles are an amazing idea, you have just given me the best idea!! my venue will also not allow confetti or anything so i have been looking for some new ideas on what to tell guests xx

We have the same problem - our venue doesn't allow confetti or petals at all. I was thinking of having small little tinkle-y bells to 'ring in the newly weds' Maybe putting them on the end of ribbon wands. xx

Ohh my venue does this too if any confetti is thrown on the day we automatically get £120 clean up fee taken from our wedding venue bond of £500. How can you tell guests it's not allowed though I didn't put it in invites I can tell family etc but if someone comes and throws a ton I'll be crying wiping my tears away with my veil lol
