At the begining of the year we spoke to our venue about reduced cost menu options, as we don't have as much money in the budget as we were hoping for! They said this was fine and something they'd definitely do, and they'd get back to us about it the following week... I'm not chasing them every week and they don't have any thing to say to me. I'm getting really fed up, the venue don't seem to communicate with me about anything at all and I'm constantly chasing them. ARGHHHHHHHH.
I dunno how I'm supposed to sort anything with the venue not talking to me, or saying.... we'll discuss it at the meeting just before the wedding.... that's too late!! I need answers now!!
    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
I'm soo upset by this aswell as the venue is where all out budget is going and I feel we're getting nothing from them!

Can you go to the venue in person? That way they will have to talk to you.

I would phone them up and explain to them that you need to do it now and not at the final meeting. They should be working with you on this as it is in their interest to do so. If they are not helping you speak to the general manager about your problems as they are usually the top manager in the hotel and can then kick everyone else into gear.

No we're not near our venue, we went to see them twice to talk about stuff but didn't get anywhere. and we're not near them either (over an hrs drive and there only open during office hrs and h2b works then - and I don't drive).
They just fob me off everytime I speak to them, saying they;re waiting for someone else to get back to them, or they'll sort it by the end of the week (latest update)... soo they've got until tomorrow until I really flip my lid!!
They keep saying they have to ask the caterers stuff as well, and the caterers aren't getting back to them. They say we have to use their caterers... so surely they should let me speak directly to the bloody caterers or let me find me own?

Even so they should be able to organize the caterers. You want to politely point out if they can't communicate with the caterers now what will happen if they leave it until the final meeting and they don't get back to them? Its bad management on their part and they need to sort it out or find themselves another supplier. That is not your problem and they should be dealing with it which as that is what they are being paid to do.

It's not as easy as that, the venue is also a blind school, so we can't just turn up, and there's only norm 1 or 2 people there :-(

It's really bad that they took so long to get that sorted out - why don't these people remember that we are PAYING them for a SERVICE?

This is exactly what my venue is like and it's driving me mad too, I was so cross after being told some things an then them goin back on their word that I went to see the manager. This helped a little, I got to find out more things and state what I wanted, however the wedding coordinator never got in touch. I needed to speak to her - after sending an email and not hearing anything back from them I decided to call. Normally when ever I phone she ist there, but she was on this day. When she answered I introduced who I was and put quite bluntly that I hadn't spoken to her before and thought I should introduce myself. Isnt this her job???!! Anyway I finally found out what I wanted to know, then she said to me oh by the way your next payment is due today shall I take for it now? I was so cross I thought what a joke I phone her ad then she charges me, when I finished the phone call I asked her to phone me for the next installment. What a joke though and still she hasn't been in contact again!
