Ok so me and H2B both have complicated families if you know what I mean...my mums single.. his mum has a 'friend' my dads re-married ect ect do the top table was always going to be a nightmare!
So we had agreed to just have Top Table of.... Bride, Groom, BM, CBM
So tonight I'm sitting trying to work out how to include the mums ect...

I think thats a good idea hun, i feel for you totally, i have a complicated family...well only 5 members of my family are coming, but thats my choice. My H2B's family are totally opposite. We are just having Bride & Groom on a single table, Then My mum, her friend, best man, 1 his wife, my son (pageboy) and a few others then on another seperate table is my dad, my stepmum, my sister (BM) my daughter (BM) my 2 besties (BM's) then on another seperate table is Kev's mum & dad, his brother (bestman 2) his wife and 2 kids (flowergirl) his aunt and uncle....the are all 3 round tables close to ours so really kind of an extension top table without the greif! xxx I think using their names is a lovely personal touch xx

I love the idea. My h2b's mum and dad are still going through an awful divorce and at the moment his dad is saying if his mums coming then he's not... Were hoping in 12 months time they'll be a bit more civil... But they both have new partners, however my mum and dad who are still together and are paying for a lot of the wedding, would be gutted if they didn't get to sit on the top table! Families eh! X

Mine is pretty much identical.
My dad is re-married. Mum is in a new relationship H2B dad is widowed but has a 'friend' now.
So I am doing an alternative top table:- Top table will be-bride,groom,maids and groomsmen.
Then there will be tables with my mum and partner. Another with dad and wife, and another with H2B dad and 'friend'.
I will be numbering them, coz i think keeping it totally simple is my key. LOL

Hi i am having a few problems with my top table too because my H2B parents are both dead and he only has his sister(who is bm) and i have my mum dad and sister I am just numbering my tables rather than naming them but i like you idea xx

I like the idea of a simple top table! We were thinking of having our parents 'host' their own tables so we dont have to suffer h2b parents. They can sit with the rest of their family ha ha
