I went to my step brothers wedding yesterday and was quite disappointed with a few things and it made me feel better for not spending as much.
The church wedding was great, though the sun was too bright and we did a lot of sqinting in photos though we couldn't move the sun out of way could we LOL
The hotel meal was too much, as every one was leaving food and feeling full and there was no menu either! They did the speaches before meal, and got us to toast with empty glasses as they hadn't gone around with wine first ? :-(
The chair covers where stopping people from sitting comfy and the fish in a bowl on the table was silly...
The Bride was quite rude as she never went to see any of her guest unless they where her family. Really to me the Bride and Groom should go around together and greet and thank all guest for coming...
They didnt give gifts out to the mothers of bride and groom and bridesmaid or bestman.
The night do was a poor turn out, as half of those that were there at day time wasn't at night do and no other people turned up. No one was dancing, me and my H2B got up to dance to try and get people up, but it didnt work :-(..... A lot of it was a waist of money and even though it was a nice day, it would still of been nice if they didn't have the sit down meal. Has the wedding was in church was great!
So made me think of what I want more for my wedding and what I will save money on!

Hun you will get that. Martyns bro had the big white(ivory) wedding last june and got me thinking i dont even want to spend that much on our wedding. No one ate the food, the hotel was to small, some people didnt turn up in the evening.
Cant wait to to marry Martyn

Deffently not going to spend that much on my wedding! Want a nice day but I know I can make it nice with out too much expence and frills!
People are too competative with wedding! And it is silly, why bother! Its about two people commiting their lives for one another not how much you can spend and impress the guests.

thats a disaster that there was no drink for the speeches? I hope they kicked the venues bum for that. I also feel better about the small portions we are serving now hehe. Surprised the bride didnt speak to anyone either... this was something that was in her control that would have helped it flow.
