she is getting married in dec and has just discovered she has been scammed on a dress she bought from ebay, the site has now closed, she has contacted ebay etc and there is a good chance that she will get her money back which is good! i'm so annoyed for her she has two children to support and has worked hard to save money.

she paid for dress and was given a date for arrival it never turned up now site and seller has vanished

:( that happend to me with a game i bought for an ex. paid £70 as it was rare and old...never turned up. never got my money back either. must be awful when its your wedding dress though!x

she should open a disput with ebay, they usually get the money back ... i've had a good few dealings with ebay... :)
she has just found out she won't be getting her money back as paypal said she doesn't fit the criteria!!!! she isn't letting it lie though!

That's awful! Surely because it was someone selling it on ebay they can do something?
I don't get this 'people don't fit the criteria' sounds stupid! If someone's ripped you off and it went through paypal they must be able to refund it whatever your bloody criteria!
I'm so sorry to hear that. Sadly it's the risk you take when you buy anything off the internet. I did toy with the idea of buying my dress online but heard so many horror stories like this. I'm buying my dress from a girl I know on Facebook and I won't part with a penny until the dress is in my hands - it's not a vast sum of money in comparison but it's more money than I've got spare!
I really hope she gets this sorted out, there are some nasy beggars out there! As for Ebay and PayPal *shakes head* that is just as disgusting as the people that scammed her!!

Why are paypal saying she doesnt fit the criteria???
In almost all the cases where the buyer has paid for goods and has not received them they pay out, cos the seller has to prove they sent it by supplying the tracking number - if they cant do that or dont respond to the dispute then the money is refunded.
