your towels were probably cotton though and because the underskirt is nylon, it's really hard to dye.

the packets of dye were about £5 each and i've bought 4 packets already. i think i'll buy one of the short ruffle pettiskirts off the bay, cut it up and then sew then all on to the front of my petticoat. the petticoat won't be visable at the back at all because it's got a long train.

i hope i'm not giving myself too much work...i am hopeless when it comes to things like this lol!!

i luv the light pink underskirt as its not too in ur face and can i just say ur shoes are to die for (I'm a huge shoe girl) i personally think a pink trim would be better than an orange one but its ur day and ur personality that u want to shine through so do what ever make u happy hun xxx

yeah i would probably prefer the pink trim too, i just saw the orange trim one and had a little moment lol i think it would be too much.

i think that the bm dresses having the orange sashes and me have the bright pink underskirt kinda balances out the colours.

oh, and i'm totally a shoe girl too. i heart them so so bad!!!!!! can't walk in them...but they look awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

Have you had a look at local dance shops? They may have them a little cheaper. I'm also having a pink underskirt - bridal one is £60, fancy dress one is £30. They are exactly the same.

This idea is growing on me. I wanted blue shoes but I can't find any sky blue ones so I'm tempted to go with a sky blue underskirt instead. Full length ones seem to be ridiculously expensive though, can't be too hard to get a short coloured one and sew it onto the bottom of a longer plain one. Could even try iron on hemming lol

the dance shop sites i have been looking at are all quite expensive. i'm going to try and source the cheapest one i can get!!!

I know this may sound a bit daft but have u tried somewhere like a curtain/material shop they will sell netting that will go under ur skirt and will probably have loads of different colours too xxx

I am making my own , and have bought it in the colour i want. Lilac. My dress isnt one that would need a crinoline type petticoat, more of a slim fitting slip, like this one, and also it will be the same colour

thanks jill i've taken a wee look but i'm thinking it'll cost about the same for a plain one layered one as it would cost to get a ruffled pettiskirt from the bay (to take apart and add to mine)

how are you dying yours raggedyanne??

yeah i thought so too, its just a pop of colour, my dress doesnt need a big underskirt so something like this would just give it that little extra something i want....my dress isnt fitted like this one, but its not a large skirt
