Do you think I'm being a control freak!

I'm just worried that my h2b will get something ridicolulous.
Bless him but he has no dress sense, I always buy his clothes for him, get his clothes out in the morning lOl!
He will be going with his groomsmen aswell, of which 2 have a good dress sense!
it's just I know exactly what I would like them to wear- I have shown my h2b some piccys which he loves but will this b what he gets?
Am I over reacting? Or is this like a tradition for the men to all go together?
Anyone in a similar situation? :-)

I'm in exactly the same position although his best man has no dress sense either so i'm slightly worse off than you :-P i've got a bit longer than you though to convince him that i'm going too!! x

Don't forget he'll have the sales person to guide his choice. I say let him go on his own to pick suits out, but retain the power of veto. So after they pick them you give final approval and pay the deposit.

aww bless well fair play to him! you wouldnt want him taging along when you got your dress would you? lol i no what you mean tho i dont think i would have liked not to go with my oh i chose what he is wearing but to be honest theres not really a great deal of choice for men anyway is there its either a suit or a kilt? isnt it either way he will look smart so dont worry just remind him that he needs to match the rest of the colour scheme x

Well my OH reckons he can get away with suit shopping a month before the day, and also wants to get the suits from Dumb & dumber, so even if i have to transform into a fly on the wall i will be there one way or another... cause theres only s many times he can make that joke before ill go into stress head and take it seriously!!

I have to agree though, when the day comes and he wants to go and choose, if he doesn't want me there then so be it, yes I've looked in brochures & online with him, and have both agreed on the likes/dislikes etc but thats just like when I was perusing dresses (none of the ones i tried on he saw) and showing him similar ones to see his reactions etc. I didn't want him there for my dress choosing and also he doesn't want to know what the BM's and FG are wearing either.
Let him go with his groomsmen - and lucky for you they have better dress sense!! - but as Samantha also mentioned, there will be the salesperson to help (they do this for a living so know what to say etc). As long as he knows colour scheme for cravat/tie etc you shouldnt have a problem!!

    Good luck xx

My h2b went on his own and doesn't have much dress sense but he pleasantly surprised me. As Susan1990 said you wouldn't want him coming with you to look at dresses lol. He might surprise you with his choice and i'm sure he'll let you have some say in it x

My H2B will be going on his own, he likes completely different suits to what I would pick, but he always looks great! Gonna put my trust in him - plus hes not too wacky himself so i think its safe! He's joked about the whoel "disco" suit, but he just would never wear one so I know he wont! xx

    My opinion LET HIM!!!!

We as brides plan everything down to the last detail our dresses, the food even the chairs and most of the time the other halfs dont get a look in.
Yes most ask opinions but at the end of the day its us that decides what goes where when and how....honestly you know its true!!
We plan our dresses the mens suits even the mums outfits some of us have a say in so I say if your h2b WANTS to plan his suit by himself then let him...its his day too after all!
It will be nice for you to have that surprise of how he will look on the day just as he has seeing you for the first time!!

If your worried tell him the colours maybe even give him something of the colour your using, a ribbon or something and tell him he MUST match this OR ELSE!!! hehehe other then that TRUST HIM its his day too and hes gonna want it to be just as special as you do so trust that he will get it right....just give him little hints to what RIGHT is ;-)

I think this is probably the only thing most men have a say on about the wedding. I say let him go and choose, the people in the shops r brilliant and qualified with dealing with such cases.lol. I may make my mum go with my OH tho, im not 2 sure, she is well known 4 her direct opinion! lol

Honestly, I find it weird and controlling when brides want to dictate what their partner's wear.

My OH will be choosing his own suit; if he wants me to go with him to help (he probably will, I always get dragged along on his shopping trips) that's cool; if not, that's also cool. I would never dream of insisting on coming, and choosing what he wears; it's his day as much as mine, and he needs to feel comfortable.

I'll admit I'd be disappointed if he decided to go with something very traditional, as it won't really suit our venue; but he's only going to get married once, so if he wants to, who am I to stop him? And I'm sure he'll look handsome whatever he's in.

Aww i say let him pick his own... my H2b had his made while travelling in Vietnam and i only saw it after it had been made! He made a really lovely choice though and at the end of the day its his day too and the only thing he gets to pick for himself! Its easy to stress over everything but im sure he'll do a great job!

i never thought of myself as a control freak but after reading this i realized i am a little bit haha i know exactly how i want everyone to look and if they dont it will annoy me although to be fair we have both agreed on colours etc. I think if he went on his own i would be dissappointed but at the same time it is his choice x as long as it is a black suit with a matching cravat to our colours then i dont mind on the style xx I think it is because i have been planning this whole thing since i can remember and i know that ry doesnt really care about the details as such as long as we get married. xx we have even compromised and are getting married in the local registry office with our families there instead of abroad on a nice warm beach somewhere x lol x

To be honest I would have been happy about him going shopping on his own. They are only hiring them, and we both wanted the same kind of thing and he knew what colour tie to go for, it just happened that we popped in there to have a look at what they had and ended up booking them!

I don't see anything wrong with him picking his own suit. Why should we pick them? We wouldn't let h2b pick our dresses would we? As long as the colour is right then I dont see a problem with it, at least he will be wearing something that he likes and feels comfortable in xxx

I went with my h2b, our bm and fob. I thought h2b would be a pain in the bum as he had refused point blank on like a tailcoat. In we walked and the dummy had the tail coat, striped pants, cream waistcoat and coffee cravat I wanted him to have -was like it was meant to be and oh just went I'll have that!

I would talk to him beforehand about your ideas and colours and maybe look on internet at pictures so have some ideas but definitely leave him to it. We plan everything else for the wedding so nice for him to do something on his own. Trust his opinion and at the end of the day he is wearing it so needs to be comfartable with his choice xxx

H2b is sorting suits, we've had a few discussions about what we like and don't like, and I'll probably give him a swatch to match up the colour, but other than that I trust him, he'll have far more idea about what suits them and feels comfortable than I do. But then again I don't really have any preconceived ideas about what I want him to have (or anything about the wedding for that matter lol!) so as long as it's not outlandish, it'll be fine.

I have spoken my OH and we have agreed that once he has chosen the suits I will b allowed to have the final say before paying.
Also I have ordered a swatch of the BM dresses - so they can use to co-ordinate colours :-) x

I had the same issue with my hubby, I had this idea that he had to wear top hat & tails! He blatently refused to wear it & decided to chose the suits himself. His reasons were he didnt know what I was going to wear on our wedding day & why should I know what he was!! As such I only knew what he had chosen the day of the wedding. I was pleasantly surprised when He had chose grey tail coats. I had cravats made from same material as bridesmaid dresses. Men dont have much say in the decision making so be nice for him to have the opportunity to chose them. Tbh carnt go wrong with a suit

H2B will be going with his bestman, ushers, his dad and my dad, without me! Same thing happened when my sis got married, my BIL went with his groomsmen and our dad's without my sis.

I will be giving strict instructions in relation to colour scheme and that I want tails but he can go and do this minus moi.
