Yey! Seeing as we've got a long time to go, I've just been buying bits and bobs as we go along :) I have my shoes & jewellery and now my garters have arrived :D It's only been a month lol! I'm really not a fan of the lacey ones and these satin ones are the exact blue we're having! :) I found these great people on the bay who make them in loads of colours/patterns and (after Royal Mail LOST my package over the holidays..) now they're here! You get a normal one and a "tossing" one so I don't have to do the silly removal with h2bs teeth thing.. :) All for £18 from the US :) Xx

They really are as good as the picture :) soft & satin-y not scratchy against your leg too :) The lady dispatched mine on 5th Dec, the day after I'd paid (and emailed me to let me know) but thanks to the holidays & royal mail I only got it today lol! Still, covered by ebay so I wasn't too worried lol. Post when yours arrive! :) Xx

I thought it was a scottish tradition, I'd never heard of it b4 coming on here though!
Just looked it up and it's worse than I thought:-
"Tossing the wedding garter is an old time held tradition. It is said that in the days gone past, the bride and groom had to show proof of their wedding consummation. In order for it to be proven, it was common tradition to have people like family and friends come into the room with the couple. The "witnesses" would obtain the garter as "proof" of the consummation. Also having any article of the under garments was considered to be good luck so sometimes things would get out of hand in the newly wed's bedroom as crazed onlookers snatched at clothing to get for good luck. This was not appreciated much by the bride nor many grooms, hence the groom started tossing the garter out so that no one would need to obtain it themselves."
Definately not on my list of things to do! lol xx
