Although we still have over a year to go, we had finally settled on choices for our first / second dance and songs during our ceremony (reg signing / walking down aisle etc) - Also my dad's dance song was sorted...
The problem is, I went to one of my oldest friends wedding last weekend and she had our first dance song playing for her walk down aisle, then our second dance song as her signing reg song and our signing reg song as her walk out of ceremony song. THEN she had my dad dance song for her dad dance song...I am not upset or anything but couldn't believe she'd picked all the same songs for her wedding day and we hadn't even discussed these choices...it was obvious some would be the same as we are the same age and have the same taste in music (as do our men).
Now I'm considering changing our songs coz don't want our other friends to think we're copying her!?!?! Or is it only me who will remember? (She probably wouldn't bat an eyelid at the same songs being played - and actually probably wouldn't even remember - she's so funny!)
What shall I do?

Don't even think anyone will notice..not 12 months later..so I shouldn't worry. If the songs are special to you keep them. Lets face it up until recent years you walked down the aisle to here comes the bride and out to mendellsohn's Wedding March..everyone had them lol I have been to weddings who have had Pachebel's Canon and the Entrance of the Queen of Sheba so many times..but all the weddings were different..and all were beautiful. xxx

This is one rason why i got my daughter to pick our signing the reg songs because i knew she would pick songs that arent the norm as it were lol the rest well if they are the same, well then they are same lol
As for changing, ermm no i wouldnt after all you have over a year to go and prob the only ones to remember what songs she had will be her and her husnband. So maybe have a word with her and explain that you picked ages ago but realised at her wedding they were alll the same and does she mind if you use them too???

Nah, I don't think that anyone will notice, especially after a year, and the men certainly won't remember. Plus they're being played at different times to your friend's wedding. I wouldn't worry about it hun Hx

Thanks girls - I know she really wouldn't mind me using them anyway but I know I'd be thinking..."Ah this was .... and ...'s song!" Lol..
i dont think anyone would notice or care, besides you say a friend from school, is she close to everyone you know?

Yep - we're all friends from school. There's 9 of us who have been friends for 16/17 years and although we were one of the first to get engaged, we are one of the last to get married lol... We all know each other's families like they're our own.

Surely the guests wouldn't notice, after all your wedding is year after? I wouldn't worry, go with the songs you've chosen as they must have some meaning to you
