    this is as much for my memory as it is for anybody else interested in flower prices! I have been to see 4 florists in the last 2 days. One free-lance lady (spent 90mins with her!) and one of the "posher" places in town (spent 40mins and they said i could have Peony in November!)are going to send me out quotes in the next two weeks. The other two places I visited have given me "approximate" prices for what I want.

    1. A run of the mill high street florist. Didnt even get a seat when I was in there and had to go through it all at the counter with other customers getting served whilst she talked to me. Total time in shop 25mins.
    Quote:
    Bride - hand tied bouquet of lilac/pale pink/cream roses, white hydrangea and bouvardei
    3xBMS - hand tied bouquet of lilac/pale pink cream roses
    Groom button hole - rose and thistle
    4 x buttonholes - thistles
    24 mini posey vases with a rose and thistle
    2 Mothers handbag corsages fixed with magnets
    Top table decoration
    Total = £400

    2. Popular local florist in garden centre, also the place my H2B usually goes to to buy my valenties flowers etc, so have an emotional connection. Spent 10mins but he asked me to come back for a more thorough quote, but will work to the same costings. (I hadnt made an appointment, just popped in on way past)
    Bride - lilac roses, white/pale pink hydrangea, white bouvardei, pale pinkroses
    3xBM - handtied whites/lilacs roses and bouvardei
    24x small posey vases - lilac, and loads of other wee things I dont know the name of but looked like miniature roses and were GORGEOUS!
    1 top table - whites/lilacs
    1 groom rose and thistle
    4 x thistle buttonholes
    2 mothers handbag corsages
    Total = £500

    I really liked the posh place that I went to, and I would be made up if they got me peonies and David Austin roses, but I am expecting their quote to be nearer the £900 mark. They also do a "mock-up" of your flowers 2 weeks before the wedding so you can see roughly what they will look like and make any changes you want.

    All 4 experiences have been very different. I have an appointment with another free-lance lady on Monday, then will wait for the other quotes to come in and see where we are at.

    Phew, its exhausting! lol

    thats good that teh posh one can mock up ones! my florist search was easy. i got given her number and made an appointment. she opened the shop early on a saturday morning so we could met her and emailed me the prices within 4 days. she is so good she is even doing our ceremony flowers which i am so happy about so it does pay off to find a florist you are happy with! xx

    went for final (I hope) appointment today. Another freelance florist that works from home. She is doing me the same as the others (no peonies)
    and a garland for the stairs for £550. She is using hydrangea heads for the little posey vases.

    now just have to wait for my other 2 quotes to come through. Are these prices about right??

    i think I will just go for it, but tell them not to do the posey vases which will save £240. I can just go to tesco and buy freesia and roses from there and do the wee vases myself a couple of days before the wedding!

    Thats a fab price Linzi. At least youve got quite a few different types of quotes. That last one seems organised and have a lot more info on it.
    Now you just need to think how much you are willing to spend hun and go with whoever you want.
    Personally I only had £300 to spend and I bargained with her and got all mine for £300 (phew) but if I have more dosh I would have had more flowers as they make the venue look sooo pretty and people remember them.
