Hey all, I would love to hear your thoughts on the below.

Me and my husband had to cancel our wedding twice due to COVID ( with a lot of heartbreak of course as well as big financial losses ). We put it on hold as it was supposed to be in South Africa and we didn't feel comfortable for our guests travelling in these unpredictable times with COVID of course. We just went ahead with our registrar at the town hall in London but no big party or dinner or anything.

We are waiting for our vaccination and for the travel restrictions situation to clear up before making new plans for our wedding in South Africa but we expect us to be there this Autumn.

My brother who lives in Los Angeles met a girl last summer who has never been introduced to the family because of Covid of course. He proposed to her last month and they now already set a date for October.

We are still in lockdown here and once we come out are eagerly waiting to go to South Africa for a 1 year belated funeral of my husbands mothers , to finally spend time my husbands dad who we havent been able to see for 2 years, and hopefully manage to fit in a wedding party for my husbands family & friends there, and hopefully we would have some money left for a honeymoon. But I doubt it as we just bought a house so we have no more savings left and we have a big loan to pay off that we used for the deposit of the house.

I told my family I wouldn't be able to fly to October in Los Angeles. They all got angry and upset with me. I then asked my brother what the rush was to get married so quickly and if it was at all possible to move a few month later and wait til things are more safer to travel for my European family to USA. In Europe they are very behind with the vaccinations as well.....But also mentioned that I wouldn't be able to attend a wedding in USA in October because I already had so many plans after being locked up in London for 1,5 year due to the virus, including my own wedding party in South Africa.... and wouldn't be able to afford it at the moment,

Now my whole family has turned against me. I on the other hand think that if he wanted to have his whole family there he should have been more considerate about setting a date and checking in with his close family first ( who all live in Europe ) Even if it would have been for example December it would at least have given me some time to safe up again. he is being a real asshole now and is ignoring me - so childish as he didn't even want to discuss things on the phone with me.

Would love to hear other peoples views on this.

It obviously really sad for me that the whole family now ignores me and treats me like im the bad egg, whilst im always the most considerate about everyone else's needs.

Currrently USA won’t allow you entry if you have been in uk for 14 days prior to arrival , so unless this changes you can’t go anyway
