Wow you are super organised. 10 days before mine and I have got as far as- deposit paid. LOL. Seriously. Quick question how is it people are getting registrars booked so far in advance? Our council specify the liscence will only be valid for twelve months? So we have to book in September. (Our big day is 17th september)

Stephanie, some councils will let you provisionally book a registrar, although you cannot give notice until the 12 month mark. We booked our registrar 2 years in advance but can't give notice until after 18th June this year x

Stephanie I maybe am a little extra organised but i like it this way im a control freak haha so rather have it done and set in place lol
Our registrar is booked and a deposit is paid and they have said they will contact me 3 months before for all the legal bits xx

Our council gave us a specific timeframe to give notice which is between 18th June and 18th August, so 10-12 months in advance. All councils operate differently so it would probably be worth a conversation with yours Stephanie to find out what's what :)

To be totally honest I forgot, I finally got a deposit down on venue and chose to relax for a while. Its only reading this thread that make me realise. LOL. I'm so laid back about everything, I'm just enjoying crafting etc that I forgot the actual LEGAL part of the whole thing. whoopsies!!

How can you forget?! Haha.. without a registrar you won't be getting married! Registrar was the first thing we technically did as our venue wouldn't allow us to fully secure our date until we had a registrar confirmed xx

I was clueless over the whole notice thing also! luckily the lady at the registrars office was so helpful and explained it all to me, i knew once we had a date confirmed then i had to secure the registrar xx

I think you only have to give notice in a registry office :)
We had to pay £20 to provisionally book our ceremony time and room for over a year before, glad we did though as I would be worrying somebody else would take it haha. Can't wait to give notice now though but means we have until April to do it as we are already booked :) x
