Hi guys after careful consideration, me and Ali have decided to change our date and bring the wedding forward to April 14th 2012. i was previously due to get hitched on 8th Sept 2012. My dad was diagnosed with the worst degree of heart failure last year which was a major blow, but he had been coping well with his condition and the medication was helping. However, wev jus had another blow. . .he has luekemia. He was also admitted to hospital thru the week as his appendix has completley ruptured and he was nearly poisoned. The inflammation of his pelvis also caused him to get an impacted bowel and he also wasnt able to pee. He is still in hospital making a slow recovery but we are aware his health will never be the same again. The most important thing to me is having my dad there to walk me down the aisle. Its made me feel so guilty about going on about hollywood dreams dresses and pink this and pink that etc!! when really i couldnt care less now i jus want my dad to be there in the best health possible.

Hi hun, I really feel for you. My mum has been battling cancer for 18 months now. We had our wedding booked for sept 1st 2012, but docs said she would not live that long, so we brought the wedidng forward to the 21st of may this year. Having my beautiful mum with me on my wedding day was the only thing that mattered. Cut backs had to be made, we begged and borrowed, but our wedding was beautiful, best day of our lives. Your doing the right thing by bringing it forward. All the best hun and hope your dad is ok x

thanks so much guys! jus been up visiting my dad tonight in hospital and told him id confirmed our new wedding date and he was so happy as he admitted he was worried that he either would be too ill to walk me down the ailse or worse!! Will defo need some help and ideas on budgeting and if any scottish brides out there can recommend any sites/stores that would be ace!! xxx

its all kinda hit me that i have only ten monhts to plan! but im fighting the panic as all the main things are booked and was able to change the date with them - then band, flowers and photographer. its nice coz its given my dad something nice to think about whilst in hospital xxx
