What gauge wire are u using? It will be flimsy with 1 wire I put wired thru opposite sides of the brooches then twisted them together and that seemed to work for me. I have a link that I got a tutorial from if you want me to send it to u x

Sian if your wanting the brooches and jewels going right through the centre of the bouquet (like a thick stripe), I would suggest using polystyrene but just cut it to that shape. You can then put the flowers either side.

Cut ur wires to about 3 inches long and poke them in where u want, dont glue them in yet wait until u have them all where u want them then just pull them out one at a time, use a glue gun and put some dabs on the stems and pop them back in x

Anything that isn't already in the budget is "ridiculous", says w2b. She's not a massive fan of sparkly things either- we have quite different personal styles (although she does nick all my scarves, handbags, tops etc etc!

Going to go on a hunt this weekend for brooches. Might brave it and face the giant westfield shopping centre in Straford. I think I'll need a stiff drink before I tackle Primark.

I don't like sparkly things either. How about hitting Camden market for some cheap vintage brooches?

If I'd do a brooch bouquet it would be along these lines - colourful but minimal sparkle.

50-60 brooches will make an 8inch diameter bouquet, and weigh approx 1 - 1.5 kg

Well girls just a little update on my bouquet - and by goodness Im running out of time!

    bouquet1
    bouquet1
    bouquet2
    bouquet2

It is just sitting in a vase at the minute so needs to be put together - and i still have some other little items to add in. I will be bunching the wires to build it up and not using a foam or polystyrene holder as i tried these with my button bouquets and just didnt like them.

Only thing im now thinking of is maybe buying one of the bags below and seeing what they look like attached to that but think time will rule that out!
