beautifull!! what have used around the stem? iv bought basic silk bouquets from dunelm for a fiver! iv got crystals to pop in them but i want some fabric to go round the stem and not sure what works best (iv got pearl headed pins to attach fabric) xx

Love it! I wish I was that creative. If I attempted anything like that it would look like my 4 year old niece had done it. x

The day I marry the man of my dreams!

Thanx for the encouragement everyone and @ Leah all the beads are on florists' stems. I secured them with florist tape and wrapped (and sewed) the whole stem part with light padding. After that I wrapped the whole stem in wide ivory ribbon which I lightly sewed and then I wrapped it again using Ivory lace on the top (it covered all the sewing!) I used diamante top pins to finish it off. Please post your pictures when you have finished, I would love to see it xxx

That looks fab! I would love to be able to do something like that myself, but I'm a bit OCD and I'd never be entirely happy with my own work (to the point where it'd drive me nuts)....
Can I be cheeky and ask how much it actually cost to make? I've ordered a crystal bouquet and just want t see the difference in price...
CommentAuthorSijen
Oh my word I can't believe you made that...it's stunning !! Well done!

oh thanks jacs! hadnt even thought about padding them, me and two of my bridesmaids are planning to sit for a night and do them all but i think thats a bit hopefull lol, theres 18 flowers per bouquet and six bouquets which all need a diamond in each plus the ribbons round the stems so it might be a while before there done all finished but we get married in 2013 so iv got a while lol, they were such a bargain though i couldnt pass them up xx

@ leah I bet doing it with others will double the fun!!!!!! But the sense of doing something for yourself is brilliant! @ Lesleys1 The whole bouquet cost me approx £40 but I have not factored in labour which was about 24hrs of work.

It looks great that Jacs. I have no artistic flair what so ever so i guess that means i'll be spending a fortune lol.

@jacs......its a lovely bouquet....
great minds think alike because i have also made a brooch bouquet....edited, because we no longer are having the same dress, i cancelled mine due her the shop messing me around.
I can resist anything but temptation
CommentAuthorJacs
@ RaggedyAnne .......wow to your bouquet and guess what your cake is very similar to mine but I have just got ivy trailing down the side (no roses). I lost a lot of my pics due to my laptop being updated (the woes of using a work laptop!!!!!!!) but when I am working on getting them back and then I will post them. Your shoes are gorgeous x

Thanks everyone, you are so encouraging - was getting a bit worried about showing the bouquet to mother as she loves everything traditional and she thinks I'm weird????? :-)
CommentAuthorMrs Badger
Stunning bouquet. I know that feeling, my mum doesn't understand why I don't want fresh flowers for my bouquet- think she thinks that paper flowers will look silly and not traditional enough. xx
Now a Mrs!

All these mothers wanting us to be traditional...maybe we should be REALLY traditional and let the bride's parents pay for the wedding... ;)
