I cant really think of a title for this thread as it is a mixture of tips and suggestions.

I have just seen on a news aticle about a company that has gone bust "Ashford Brides" the news link is on my wall. This got me to thinking for all of us that have paid out deposits for weddings over a year away, what is happening with our money.

This made me think that I defo need to get wedding insurance...............

.......... but with my drama with my previous wedding insurance and more recently my pet insurance, is wedding insurance any better?????

.......... does it pay for us to plan and purchase early????

I have wedding insurance. I cant remember how far in advance it covers as I got it a few months ago and getting married in August.

I would definitely look into it as mine will pay out if anything is cancelled. Its worth it for peace of mind.

If you are unsure email them x

Wedding insurance is a must but what you have to remember is that they only cover you for certain things. Some people think if they just cancel the day that they are covered but they need to read the small print. It will protect you from lost deposits etc but you do need to prove that you paid them so make sure that you keep your paper work up to date and get contracts etc etc.

Our insurance was a one off payment that covers us from the moment we paid a deposit to the date of the wedding. I think that's the case for most insurance.

For the sake of the £28 we paid, it's so worth the peace of mind. We're covered from the moment we hand over any money right up to the end of our reception which is a month after our wedding Hx

H2B purchased wedding insurance for us. With our luck, we through that it would be sods law that something terrible would happen if we didn't have it. I feel so much more relaxed knowing tha cost of the wedding is covered if something does go wrong.

H2B works in insurance so am leaving it to him to sort! We haven't booked anything yet, but the minute we're about to put any money down, we'll be getting the insurance sorted. x
