Being a Semi musician and H2B being a musician music is very important to us... We had a meeting with my flute teacher - a fantastic musician and he has arranged a quartet for us for the ceremony. Although all the musicians are the best from around the country and it's gunna be fab but I naively didn't expect the price tag... £600! I budgeted £250 :/ had a chat to H2B and he's got the don't worry everythings gunna b fine attitude but with 6 weeks to go I can't cut corners anywhere else! I don't know what to do anymore!!! :/

Do you not have contacts you can use or the local music college?

We could do but we said from the off that musicians are really important and it would ruin our day if one little thing went wrong with it... We're just too fussy! As with our friends... They're all studying in London now and so would end up costing more for the travel and accommodation for them anyway! I guess it's just live like we're skint for 5 weeks! Good job I have two pay checks b4 the wedding!

I would say that is about the average price for a quartet. I know it sounds a lot but when you break it down to per person, travel time, set up time etc it works out that they don't get that much per hour. I hope you manage to get the money for them as I should imagine they will sound amazing.
go to the uni of huddersfield!! i did a music degree there and there are loads of quartets formed there who would only be too happy to do your wedding and they wont charge you the earth! I can recommend an excellent clarinettist (who studied with me but is now a freelance performer, she's got an MA and is fantastic!) and a fantastic viola player who will be playing for our wedding with his quartet- he's quoted us £400 for the ceremony, drinks and reception playing time. If you want their numbers let me know and I'll be happy to put them on your wall xxx

good luck! :o) ooh really? that sounds brilliant! My clarinet teacher at uni was one of the lead clarinets in the Halle orchestra and the symphonic wind orchestra were conducted by the ex-principle cornet of Black Dyke Brass Band - it was amazing! :o)

yes!!!! It was amazing! he was absolutely brilliant if not slightly scary :o) sounds like you've got a pretty fab deal then, like I said my friends have MA's and they've quoted me £400 for a few hours playing time which I didn't think was too bad, only works out at £100 for each of them!
