So I had thought I would be getting married late August / mid October next year; however, I am very set on my colours and mum's response was "That's not really summer wedding colours!" (Ivory, black, deep red) Mother is of course correct, but does it really matter that much? I'm not overly concerned about delaying until the February, but are colours really that important to the date? It's about the only thing I have settled on when it comes to the big day. And the groom, of course!

I don't think it really matters personally. The colour should be about the couple not the season

I dont see why people think this!
    have it. it doesnt matter.

When i was having fushia (only changed my mind due to struggling with bm dresses) everyone said its not a wintery colour. The guy at the venue even said "no! fushia! you want browns and golds!" Nooooo i want fushia!
If id have got the dresses id have had it!

Do what you want! It look lovely...might even make it feel cooler if its a red hot day! xx

I think you should have the colours and date that you want. It doesn't matter about the colours matching the season :) It is YOUR wedding and there are no rules.. have what you want!

We're not matching the season - we've got navy blue and we're marrying in April. Stick to your date and have the colours you want!

There's no set rule! A lot of my friends had June weddings - one wore dark green, one white, one black and one purple, and all had themes to match. Go with whatever you feel, it's your day! :D

They sound like wedding colours to me - black and ivory reminds me of the groom in his suit and the bride in her gorgeous dress, and red makes me think of red roses and love hears and all things romance. And love is applicable to all weddings regardless of dates, so they're perfect!
