Have a good sit down with realistic costs, contributions from family members and realistic saving targets. Then that should give you an indication. Good luck

I brought the wedding forward 6 months - still had 9 months to wait till the wedding and people kept saying what are you pregnant! Uh yes I thought about it long and hard and thought that having a) a baby on the breast every 5 mins, b) being the size of a whale (sorry typically non mummy of me - no offence intended) c) Going into labour before we say "I will" ......... hhhmmmmm yes they are all valid reasons for bringing the wedding forward.

It really does depend on what you already have, what you expect to pay, what you expect to earn, what you expect to be unexpected etc.

I really think we have been doing all-right, so far everything has come in under our expected costs, the parents have given us more than expected, all of this has meant we haven't had to scrimp on anything, we are getting what we want and being able to splurge when we want as well - take the honeymoon and the rings.

As long as you give yourself a good contingency for the wedding going over - ie at least aim to save £2k more than you need. And you factor in at least £2k of "F" ups in the home etc. Reign in all other costs that are unnecessary such as big xmas/birthday pressies.

    You should be fine.

It doesn't sound like you have a lot to spend anyways....

If you need a dress I can tell you where I got my Ronald Joyce £1600 dress from with £1000 discount te he..... I have fabric issues!

    I'm now a married woman
    I have a gorgeous husband
    Whats to do now
Theres no more wedding planning to do

Bless you, look at you go, that's not an awful lot.

I went to a wedding recently and I didn't notice there were no favours, until my OH pointed it out!

If you plan on adding a bit extra to everything you need, then save a lot on everything you should be quids in or there abouts....

You sound really well organised and you have a very generous family, lucky you ;-)

Maybe if you do need a bit of extra money, your families could loan it to you
