Oufff - well after h2b actually getting quite excited and us sitting down for most of Sunday to decide what we want, we've discovered it's probably going to take us an extra year to save up for it!
On the bright side we've picked a fab date (23rd May 2015) which is our 7.5 year "halfiversary" haha.
Also it's a bank holiday weekend Saturday so all of our relatives (who live on opposite sides of England, with our hometown in the middle) will be able to make it no worries.

We did the whole "close your eyes and what do you see" which was suggested in another thread - that worked FAB (definitely recommended)
We're gonna find & book our venue when we get back to the UK this summer, then gradually hoard stuff bit by bit. We don't want to compromise on things, but we definitely don't want any debt!

The other little bit of my brain is a bit deflated because we know what we want - it's just annoying not being able to have it for so long lol! Although I think I will definitely cave and start dress shopping ridiculously early - I am so jealous of all the gorgeous dresses I see on here :) xx

Sorry - there wasn't much of a point in my ramblings there I've just realised, I just like having people to chat about this stuff to (or more at in this case lol)

I said "close your eyes" to JaeSin when she was a bit stuck; it does work! We couldn't decide between candelabras or cocktail glasses for centre pieces, so I closed my eyes, imagined opening the door to the wedding breakfast room and hey presto!, candelabras it is x

Thats a great way of doing it and it is how me and H2B have down ours.. we decided we wanted to save up the money and do the wedding on how we wanted it! We are young, havent got any financial commitments apart from a flat together, we have no kiddlywinks yet - so we have the luxury to save and save and save! :) Im glad I have the opportunity to take my time to plan things with my h2b! :) xx

The only thing I would say with your date is what ever the prices are now add 10% on for next year then take that price and add 10% on for the year after and so on. Suppliers usually up their costs every year so to help you stay in budget it will help you if you allow for it now so there are no nasty surprises. If you can get it cheaper when you come to book everything then you are onto a winner and can either then splurge on something else or keep the money in the bank. I think its a great idea to wait a little longer and have the day you dream of as you have the rest of your lives together so you might as well do it right.

Cheers ladies! Yeah I've upped our planned budget by 30% to take in the price changes - I'm gonna ask everywhere I look if we could lock in an earlier years price for boking early lol. Just incase they say yes!

Yes thanks Tinsel - that's where I got the idea from, it works so well :D xx
