Well went to see my mother today with my Mr. And she was saying "oh I have decided to only have one dress for your wedding" I said you will be fine with that I'm only wearing the same one all day. Guess what she said in front of Mr.? " what your white one.!!!" I looked at her with evil eyes and she said oh I mean your ivory one. Ffs. I know he may think it is ivory but I wanted to keep it a secret. Then ten mins later she said. Ive decided to get a taxi from your house to the church it will be easier then I don't have to worry about parking my car. How long do you think it will take to lace you into your dress. !!!!! I didn't say anything but was fuming inside. So now my Mr knows I have a ivory dress that laces up. When we left I asked my Mr to take a few things to the car for me. I said to her. Why did you say that about my dress you might as well go outside now and tell him what detail I have on it. She laughed and said sorry. I didn't realise. Back in car my Mr asked what was up and I didn't say anything I don't want to bring attention to whet she said about my dress. But it has really upset me. Tbh I am thinking she is jealous of everything we have together. As she isn't in any kind of relationship. Just bit upset. Wanted to vent.

Ok relax all is not lost yes he knows its white/ivory and is a lace up BUT most wedding dresses are hunni so I'm betting he was thinking you were going to be in white/ivory dress anyway.
He has no idea what details you have on it, what style you have gone for what ie aline, mermaid, princess etc, jewellery or what your doing with your hair so it will all still be a surprise so don't panic!
Next time you go to your mums GAG HER hehehe

i would be fuming if my mum said that. luckily my mum was the one who was super secretive over everything though!

she probably didn't mean it though, and if i was you, i'd throw him off the scent now. i told my hubby i had a pink, purple and white one on standby! i told him that many different things that if i had actually showed him mine and said thats it, he wouldn't have belived me.

just tell him, 'you really think i wanna wear a white dress to my wedding?! how boring! im not telling you what colour but its bright!' and men tend to be stupid enoguh to believe it. haha

and with regards to the lace up, men don't tend to even notice that. my man had to think just now what my back was like!

try not to worry too much, its only 2 parts of the dress anyway. he doesn't know how big it is, what style it is, if theres any detail, and most importantly, hes not actually seen it, or you in it!

    xx

As the other ladies have said, he still will be none the wiser as to what it looks like. My h2b doesn't understand how ivory is classed as a different colour to white anyway. If could be a full lace dress, or a simple fishtail, or a huge princess.

It could be worse, my mum said infront of my partner "are you having red sashes to match your dress?" and then on another occasion the florist said "your the lady having the red dress?"

oh no lisa, thats awful....now the element of surprise has been well and truley shafted.

Heather, its awful I know, but 90% of brides wear an Ivory dress, and 80% of those have a lace up back.....I doubt very much that your H2B would have been able to work out the style of your dress by those two remarks.....I hope not anyway,.
I know if it was said to my H2B....he wouldnt have a clue.
What I thought was strange though, is when you told your mum you was keeping yours on all night, and she said....''what your white one''.... OF COURSE your white one because thats the only wedding dress you have isnt it? makes me wonder if she DID actually mean to say it.....or was it just something that slipped out?

I had two dresses, because the main one (red) was extremely heavy and I'm disabled and have mobility problems

It is annoying when people do that isn't it?

I'm trying to keep the details of my wedding dress a secret too however he has already figured out that my dress is strapless as I've started doing the gardening in strapless t-shirts in the hope I don't get tan lines, lol.
