Just found out my mil2b is wearing black to our wedding, im not surprised as were not getting on but it is bothering me, she wearing a black trouser suit & black fasinator, to me thats for a funeral, am i being over sensitive?
CommentAuthorweenymoo
No not at all, i totally agree it's a wedding and i feel people should wear any other colour but black. I went to my partners cousin wedding 5 years ago and was looking at the pictures the other day everyone in the picture apart from 6 of us were in black they all looked like they were going to a funeral
CommentAuthorMrsd
Yeah thats what i thought, h2b said i should say something but no point in causing yet another row. xx
CommentAuthorweenymoo
I understand about the rows aswell. Just do what i do now and think about you and try not to stress, i have come down will a really sort throat and a nasty cough so i have started to think about me now.
Do the same xx
CommentAuthorSuzie Bear
Does she have issues with her weight, alot of people feel more confident and slimmer dressed in black x
is Mrs Suzie Bear!!!!
Gotta be pink!!! :0)
I think I blinked and missed our wedding!! lol
After the recent drama with mine I would expect her to wear black just to pee me off. I would be fuming, to me wearing black is as bad as wearing white, for the bridal party. Unless of course you have a theme.
I feel for you :-(
CommentAuthorMrsd
No she just lost 4 stone, and is infact slimmer than me now, so thats defo not the reason.
Weenymoo i hope you get well soon, iv just got over the virus so do know how you feel get some vit c down you. xx
CommentAuthorMrsd
No sadly we dont get on & she wasnt coming to the wedding up to 3 weeks ago. x

im married
im now Mrs Dove
no more wedding planning LOL yer right
CommentAuthorJilly17
how about you suggest a colour to accent the black for her top under her suit and fascinator and accessories etc? I would agree solid black is not appropriate for a spring wedding and I would get h2b to say something to her rather than you x
CommentAuthorFuture Mrs Doublé
I think that all in black is unacceptable for a wedding, but if she wears some other colours as a blouse it would be fine

CommentAuthorStave
Noooooo!
Better still, say to her, that you totally love the choice. You were a little bit worried that she might chose a colour that would clash with your theme. BUt it is a great weight off your shoulders now you know that she is in black ;-)
CommentAuthorJane
Im not so sure that it really matters these days, after all, you can even get bridesmaids dresses in black now. My mum is wearing a black dress with a subtle hint of gold, and a black fascinator and it looks ok. If you look at some of the celebrity weddings these days, quite a lot of female guests wear a little black dress. I would rather my mother wear black than some hideous green or bright orange!
CommentAuthorFuture Mrs Doublé
you are like me Jane, I hate green and orange and they are banned from my wedding :) but I defo would not wear just black for a wedding.

CommentAuthorsuzky123
its h2b place to say something... u shouldnt be put in that situation so he should be the one having the row and it does need addressing, Hope you get it sorted x

Mrs d don't rise to it hun, it's not worth it, at the end of the day she may be looking for a reaction. She may even end up looking quite nice but even more possibly..the odd one out. Be the better person hun and just enjoy your day....not long now! xxx
oh I do I do I dooooo!!!
oh I did I did I did!!

lysblanc - I dont hate green, in fact my bridesmaids are wearing emerald green! I'm talking about 'old lady green'!!!
CommentAuthorFuture Mrs Doublé
I don't hate all green, I am too quick to type, I like emerald, and turquoise, but a flashy green and flashy orange hurts my eyes, sorry hope didn't offend anybody by saying I hate. tired not fully looking what I type

CommentAuthorEcoFreak
I agree - I love emerald green but like "highlighter" green hurts my eyes, unless your going to a neon party :)
And I'd be really annoyed with her outfit - the black fascinator in particular just pushes it over the edge :( xx
CommentAuthorFuture Mrs Doublé
yeah a little bit too much funeral type to my taste. I really think H2B ought to speak to her

wearing black is just as bad as wearing it to a baptism/christening you just dont and i saw someone say its the same as you wouldnt wear white to a wedding if shes really set on wearing black she at least needs an accent colour to go with it cos just black is to like going to a funeral!! x x
I had a chat with h2b last night as he got upset that his mum would be so nasty & was going to phone her there and then to say your not allowed to wear it, but i knew she would tell him to do one and she wear what she wants so he was planning on telling her not to come. Even tho i cant stand her i couldnt let him not have her there so told him to forget it its just a suit, tho he still not happy that people will be judging her for her outfit. xx
CommentAuthorMel D
It's not the best color to wear, but as he says, people will he judging HER xx

CommentAuthorMrsd
It matters to me, i dont want people dressing up like they going to a funeral, its rude unless the bride oks it.

Im with Croc - loving the black. But also as my wedding theme is black and white it would be perfect
CommentAuthorJill
I love black too, not too fussed what anybody wears at mine as long as me, h2b and our son look great :) having said that I've never worn black when I've been invited to a wedding all day, I wear it so much the rest of the time - work, nights out, casual - it's just nice to wear something else x

CommentAuthorlala "mod" bunni
l we are actually asking out guests to wear only black and white to our wedding ....so it wont bother me at all if they waer all black
think your missing the point...its like if you were all having black and white themes and she decided to wear red...thats how it is.
and were both proper **** off bout it!
CommentAuthorJilly17
I get it MrsD! This is a spring wedding without a colour 'theme'. We are having black tie wedding so lots of people will come in black which is fine as it will suit the occasion. For me, all black does not suit a spring wedding!
CommentAuthorMrsDadson :0)
Dont think id be very happy either, i think its different if its the theme or if its worn with a brighter colour. xx
CommentAuthorKimi
I wore black to my BIL's wedding. - it was a strapless little black dress with blue details and a black bolero - it was fine.
The days are flying by, can't wait :)
CommentAuthorUnknown
i think it depends if she is going to break the colour up. if it is complety black then i dont agree with it.
