No not at all, i totally agree it's a wedding and i feel people should wear any other colour but black.
I went to my partners cousin wedding 5 years ago and was looking at the pictures the other day everyone in the picture apart from 6 of us were in black they all looked like they were going to a funeral

    Do you not get on?

After the recent drama with mine I would expect her to wear black just to pee me off. I would be fuming, to me wearing black is as bad as wearing white, for the bridal party. Unless of course you have a theme.

    I feel for you :-(

how about you suggest a colour to accent the black for her top under her suit and fascinator and accessories etc? I would agree solid black is not appropriate for a spring wedding and I would get h2b to say something to her rather than you x

    Noooooo!

Better still, say to her, that you totally love the choice. You were a little bit worried that she might chose a colour that would clash with your theme. BUt it is a great weight off your shoulders now you know that she is in black ;-)

Im not so sure that it really matters these days, after all, you can even get bridesmaids dresses in black now. My mum is wearing a black dress with a subtle hint of gold, and a black fascinator and it looks ok. If you look at some of the celebrity weddings these days, quite a lot of female guests wear a little black dress. I would rather my mother wear black than some hideous green or bright orange!

I agree - I love emerald green but like "highlighter" green hurts my eyes, unless your going to a neon party :)

And I'd be really annoyed with her outfit - the black fascinator in particular just pushes it over the edge :( xx

wearing black is just as bad as wearing it to a baptism/christening you just dont and i saw someone say its the same as you wouldnt wear white to a wedding if shes really set on wearing black she at least needs an accent colour to go with it cos just black is to like going to a funeral!! x x

I had a chat with h2b last night as he got upset that his mum would be so nasty & was going to phone her there and then to say your not allowed to wear it, but i knew she would tell him to do one and she wear what she wants so he was planning on telling her not to come. Even tho i cant stand her i couldnt let him not have her there so told him to forget it its just a suit, tho he still not happy that people will be judging her for her outfit. xx

I get it MrsD! This is a spring wedding without a colour 'theme'. We are having black tie wedding so lots of people will come in black which is fine as it will suit the occasion. For me, all black does not suit a spring wedding!
