As some of you may know my mum is currently undergoing chemotherapy for colon cancer, on the day of my wedding she will be in the middle of her 3rd cycle of chemo.
Unfortunately my mother just has to be different and instead of all the normal chemo side effects she is getting some really weird ones.
The one causing the most stress is the fact that touching anything cold or even just cool, results in an electric shock type sensation and it continues until she removes the cold sensation.
A cool breeze is enough to trigger the shocks so she is after some sort of gloves & scarf that doesn't look too formal but not too informal. But will go with her outfit which is a silvery green floral silk dress and jacket.

She is getting quite upset at what the chemo is doing to her body and to the fact she is likely to be bloated from steroids, getting electric shocks all over her body and very tired on the day of my wedding. As I'm likely to be the only one of her children to get married it really is getting to her.

So I'm after creative ideas and/or suggestions of nice solutions to her problem

This may not be of any help, but could you get her a pashmina in colour that might tone with her outfit? I had a quick look on @m@z0n at formal gloves, there were some satin wrist length ones but the colours might not be any good. You could maybe try the bay? Sorry if I'm not much help Faye! Xxxx

A pashmina would be lovely. What are those furry things called you can put your hands in - like a tube and your hands meet in the middle of it? I suppose that would be weather dependant too...

I've just g00gl3d it... its a hand muff!
Also, could you keep some of those hand warmers on standby so if she does get caught there's something warm to take the cold away?

So sorry your mom is going through this. I hope she starts to feel better soon and overcomes the cancer.

In terms of gloves you could go for the long elbow length gloves or blue banana do some nice lace gloves. A short silk scarf would be nice as well, she could look Audrey hepburn-Esk.
Maybe a bolero type with a high collar, or she could try to find an outfit that has a higher collar

Would lace gloves be any good? They are quite small so could be tucked away in a handbag when she doesn't want/need to wear them. X

A pashmina of even just a nice cardi to cover her arms will be great.

It depends what she needs for her hands. Does she need something thick or just to cover them. I would go for lace gloves if possible either wrist or elbow length depending on her dress etc
But if not I think satin gloves would be the way to go.
Given when your wedding is, the fur muff will work and not look too peculiar.

How about getting the hand warmers that you click the metal. They can keep her hands warm and she can use them as an instant heat if she does get a cold snap.
I'm sure given the circumstances the venue would remelt them for you x

    Sending love xx
