I have never really been close to my dad and will be having my mum to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day, and was also thinking of having a mother daughter dance and have found an amazing song on the tube of u called 'every mothers dream', it seriously is the most emotional song i have ever heard. I know it is MY wedding day but back in Jan 2010 one of my good friends lost her mother due to cancer and she will de at my do so its kind of putting me off doing it as i know she would be in bits, one of our other friends got married last august and when they played dance with my father for her and her dad my friend ran off into the toilets so i went after her and se was soooo upset!! I just really dont know what to do as its such a beautiful song with [perfect words and id love to include it in my day but at the same time feel as though i would be rubbing it in my friends face!! What would you do?? Thanks x

If it was me I would avoid it if I knew it might upset my friend. Would you be able to talk to your friend about it first and get her feelings on it? If she knew it was really important to you and no other song would do then she might be quite understanding. x

Tell her before hand - its alway going to be hard for your friend, but at the end of the day without sounding like a cow life goes on and her loss shouldnt hinder on your joy.

Im sure if you talk to her she'll understand and I bet she finds it a good idea xxx

I would speak to her first too. It is a very sad situation but it is your day and it is your mum. If she knows about it she would be prepared and can then choose how she wanted to handle it.

i agree with raekim - mention it to her and see how she feels about it. She'll proabably be very touched that you're even considering not doing it for her sake and I'm sure she'll tell you to have what you want for your wedding. Good luck xx
