    Hello everyone!!!

Myself and my fiancé are just starting to save for our wedding (hopefully in 2016). I'm trying to be super organised and get a few
things done ASAP (that we can afford!).
Does anyone have any money saving tips?? The venues I really like do wedding packages for around £10,000 but they can give
individual quotes, is this worth it or should we just hire the venue and provide everything from outside?

Any advice people have will be greatly appreciated.

Wow £10000 seems a lot , I thought ours was expensive at £7,000.
Hagglings good to use if u think you can do it.
And maybe if you can make anything yourself, that will save you money
    Good luck x

Also buying stuff in sales - when you know what you want keep buying things little and often to spread the cost. Book the year before for things like photographer and they might give you packages at 2014/ 2015 prices instead of their 2016 price.

I'm buying bit by bit from the bay of e. I think you should initially find suitable venue and see what the payment requirements are such as deposit etc and work out timescale.

Always worth haggling. We managed to find a venue that's includes centre pieces, 3 course wedding breakfast,dj, candy cart, evening buffet, arrival drinks, breakfast drinks, disposable cameras for the table and still got them to include cheese boards, place cards, chair covers, sashs some extras for evening buffet (upgraded food) at no extra cost so always worth asking. Most will do so for your business. Go in there knowing what you want. I took a list of questions/ requests and they covered all at no extra cost!

It depends - does the package offer what you want? Are there things you aren't really fussed about that are included?

There's no harm in getting an individual quote, you can then decide if the package they offer would be better value. It's also worth asking for a breakdown of exactly what is included in the package.

Of course, it all depends on the venue, but with the ones we looked at which included things like chair sashes, decorations, centrepieces etc they were all very generic and I didn't want my wedding to look and feel like 'every other wedding at that venue'.

If they offer packages, it is unlikely that they will allow you to bring in outside catering, and will probably heap corkage on any drinks you bring in (at some venues, this can still work out cheaper though).

Don't forget, they want your custom - some wedding coordinators act like they are doing you a favour by allowing you to hold your wedding at 'their' venue, but really, it's the other way round.

Without knowing what's included and how many for, 10k does seem rather on the high side unless the numbers are particularly high, I suspect that if you shop around you could find something less expensive, if budget is an issue - and possibly just as nice.
