I think it's safe to say we don't have money of our side. Didn't get paid on time this month so next month we will now have a bank charge ARGH Plus we need to book travel to meet my sisters. Only got in touch with them a few weeks back after never knowing about them.

BUT we have now put our first bit of money into savings. OVER THE MOON! Didn't think we would be able to do it this month but seems we can, every spare penny is going into the savings account :) Working towards a 3k Wedding atm but will be able to stretch to more if nothing major goes wrong.

If you got paid late and as a result get charged by your bank, then you should have a word with the company and make them pay the blooming charge!
Good luck with the saving babe - I know it's tough, but little and often soon adds up!

Unfortunately LK im self employed as a baker and really shouldnt of relied on a friend for the rest of her wedding cake payment lol That taught me a lesson for sure.

Hopefully by end of the year we can start buying little things and consider putting down a few deposits :)

That is unfortunate Hun! If it's your first time phone up and advise your bank of the reason. Most banks agree to waive the first bank charge!

    Well done.
We have a loose change jar and over the past 6 months have filled it. There is enough to pay for all the table decorations...just a handy tip x

i agree with contacting the bank, if you never go overdrawn they are likely to waive the charge, its a worth a try!

JEm, do what most of the companies we're dealing with for our wedding do - set a date that final payment is due before the wedding, then people will have to pay you on time or not get what they ordered! I think its a good plan, and means we'll know that our wedding bills are mostly paid before the big day, so that we don't come crashing down from the wedding into huge bills.

Well done with the saving! :)
