Okay ladies I need your honest opinions!

Went shopping last weekend to buy Matron of Honour's dress and found her a gorgeous dress in one of the 2 colours I'd had in mind (Purple as couldn't find a nice one in turquoise), she looks amazing in her maxi dress and is wearing a lace shrug with it as my dress is lace too.

My mum is in a turquoise knee length dress with bolero jacket. She believes that the MoB should match the bridesmaids!
Today my mother-in-law-to-be shows me her dress (bearing in mind i gave her the ribbons with all the wedding colours) and her dress is also a maxi dress in purple but with a purple shrug!! Very, very similar to my one and only bridesmaid (flower girls are in BHS dresses with cerise sashes!)

Is this a major faux pas or can we get away with it as MoG won't be carrying a bouquet and will have a corsage to suggest she isn't a BM???????????

To be honest I'm not all that bothered but just know I will probably get earache about this from someone in the family, namely my Mother!!!!!!

Uh oh! Maybe you mil won't want to look like a BM, as Future Mrs Mac has said, she might prefer to change it.
I'd definiately tell her so that she has the option, but if she doesn't want to change it and you and her are both happy I wouldn't worry hon. Just explain to your mum that it doesn't bother you so it shouldn't really bother her xx

I think it'll be fine, if you're not too bothered I'd leave it, just make sure that the photographer knows so they're not putting her in the bm piccies lol. x

Thanks ladies.I think I might just try to show her the BM dress and see what she says. She did mention there were a few other dresses she liked but she's had this one altered, so I think you are probably right for me to leave the choice to her. x

Well if you're not bothered about it and she's happy to look similar there shouldnt be an issue - why would it be an issue for your mum if it isnt for you? My mums mate - who's coming to the wedding - described the outfit she wanted for the wedding and pretty much described my mums outfit. My mum didnt mention it at the time but has said to her since that it's a bit too similar... cant have her stealing my mums thunder, she's only going to be mob once! x
