Flowers are out because my Mother will be travelling back to London the next day, and it can't be too big because of the same. And we have have a cupboard full of champagne.

Could you get your mum something like a keepsake cushion with a nice saying on it, something like "A mother holds their childrens hands a little while, but their hearts forever" Something to remind her that although you're all growed up and married you're still her little girl ;)
hmmm MIL - I saw a beautiful photo album the other week with "My son's wedding" embroidered/beaded on the front of it, then she's got something for her own reminders of the day :) xxx
