Im thinking of hiring a local hall for our wedding reception, not 100% sure if they have a bar there but its unlikely as I never hear of any events going on there, certainly nothing that would require a bar anyway.
I can sort the buffet/hire a caterer for the food but what about drinks???
Has anyone hired/hiring or heard of anyone that has hired a bar? What sort of costs would I be looking it? If it was a cash bar or cant that be done?
Thank youx

Hi,
I've hired a local village hall and were hiring a mobile bar. Our hall doesn't have a license so the bar company are doing this for us.
Our bars prices are pretty much pub prices, I've paid £100 returnable deposit to secure the booking. As I've got over 100 guests attending the hire is free of charge. We're having a cash bar. They also do drinks packages for arrival drinks etc starting from £5pp. We're not doing this as were buying peroni and champagne in bulk from c0stc0 which is cheaper for us.
Where abouts are you located? Xx

Im in penllergaer which is just outside of swansea in south wales.
Ive noticed in small print on some mobile bar hire contracts it states that no other alcohol besides theirs must be consumed at the event?

Oh I'm in kent. A lot of them do that, but ours doesn't, which is why we've chosen them. We can provide drinks for welcome, tables and toasting. And they make their money from the rest. But we're only doing welcome drinks xx

Would it be cheaper to get your own drinks in?

Hi, we've hired a mobile bar for our village hall wedding reception. It cost us £200 which covers his time, the licence and he also provides waiter service to the tables. It's a cash bar so our guests will have to pay for drinks but the man who owns the bar has said we can provide our own welcome drinks and drinks for the toast, plus 3 bottles of wine on each table. Once it's gone, it's gone, and they will have to buy from him (I think a lot of people will buy drinks early on anyway as they won't want wine). Our reception starts at about 2 so I think I can safely say the alcohol we provide will be gone by about 4 and for the 7 hours after that he should sell a fair few drinks!
