Along with a few of the girls, I am starting to look at hen ideas
A lot of my friends have young families/work/not much spare time or cash so I thought if i put the feelers out now, it gives those that really want to come, the chance to put some money aside between now & next summer and to arrange childcare

We have kind of decided on Newcastle as the venue (200 miles away!!)
The train fares from what we can find though are EXTORTIONATE (£90!)

Has anyone hired a mini bus before?
Would you, if you were going on a hen, be happy with a mini bus and split the cost rather than numerous cars going or silly prices for trains?

Also how much would you expect to pay for a 18 seater for 2 days?

    That's good Becky.
Your a bit closer to Newcastle than me! I live in Peterborough (East Anglia)
£320 is good though! £20 each

Hi Elle I get the train from Newcastle to London quite often and if you book in advance (12 weeks to be exact) on either cross country or east coast you get tickets starting from £16 each way. The train I get often passes through Peterborough. alternative is a national express coach. I got a mini bus from newcastle to edinburgh a couple of years ago to a hen party and paid £15 each xx

I dont think they do the flights anymore. I make the drive from Newcastle to Essex frequently, because Im from Essex but study in Newcastle. I would just drive, take a couple of cars and share fuel cost. Its like a straight run along the A1, very few road changes, all in all an OK drive.

Someone will be fine! Lol, and why not just get late checkout and leave later? I normally leave at about 5 after work and I'd be in Peterborough by 9.30 max. Check out late, get a big brunch and drive later.

I mean if we take cars, will need prob 5 or 6 cars going. so 5 or 6 drivers.
We will all have work on the monday and majority of us have children so will want to get back mid afternoon on the sunday.
It is do-able, im just concerned the girls wont let their hair down as much as they know they have to drive home the next day
