We thought we had found the ideal reception venue, this evening we went to collect the booking form and pay the deposit only to be told about another booking in the room next door. The hall next to ours is being hired for a concert and we've been told can be very loud. They will also want access to the piblic bar meaning we cant have exclusive use.
We can still have the room we like but it won't feel very special with concert goers wandering around and also ising the bar at the same time. Should we look for somewhere else?
Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

Personally I wouldnt be happy with that, the music may be really loud while your trying to eat and do speeches. U have plenty time to find somewhere else. This was wasnt meant to be, u will find somewhere perfect x

I appreciate the venue telling us before we signed om the dotted line but I'm also dissapointed as I like it so much, sigh.... OH thinks we should check other options, what a bummer though

it depends on how much you like the venue and the deal they are giving you. I would not be overly bothered but that is me I think most people would be.

Its a good thing you both found out now though and not after paying deposits or anything. Things happen for a reason, i am sure you will find an even better venue :D
I would be worried about the volume of the music from next door too. It is a bummer though as you like it so much but that means there is somewhere better out there for you!

Well OH and are talking about it at the moment and just remembered the local British Royal Legion hall is a good size and close to town, might be the answer to our prayers....will keep you posted girls :)

Am sure you will be able to find something that you will love even more hun. You could request the venue takes your details and lets you know if the other event gets cancelled ahead of time. As a precautionary measure maybe.
