So my h2b has a lot of allergies including the majority of metals, which makes buying wedding rings a bit of a nightmare! I know platinum is hypoallergenic but too expensive for us, anyone else know of any other metal that might be alright?

I don't know of metals but I do know of a couple who were both allergic to metals and so they had theirs made out of wood! Horn is pretty popular too and wouldn't need replacing often like wood.

When we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours
we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying
weirdness and call it love, true love.

I tend to flair up with any metal with nickel in it. My wtb bought me a white gold band engagement ring but sometimes the skin on my finger gets dry underneath it. As I'm not a jewelry wearer my wedding ring will replace my engagement. So I have chosen another ring that looks as much like my engagement ring as poss (as she chose it) but it's titanium which holds the promise of non allergies. :) I got it from an online site would you like me to put the link on your wall to have a browse? x

Yes, apparently Palladium is hypo-allergenic :) My hubby's ring is Palladium and it's gorgeous. Looks really good as it ages.

I'm allergic to a lot of metals - white gold is normally OK but not 24 hrs a day, ring comes off at night and I put on E45 which seems to work.
Titanium is great for me, as is surgical steel - you can get surgical steel wedding bands online - a lot cheaper then Platinum :-)

I would say titanium. It's used for piercings as well. Nice and inexpensive as well. We have titanium rings and they are great,

I would say Titanium too hun. Speaking as someone who does ear piercings, when someone is allergic to the other metals, gold included, titanium is advised as it doesn't have the risk of allergic reactions xxx

ClaireY78 - Metal allergies are fairly common but we've found that PALLADIUM is the best choice. It is stated to be Hypoallergenic by most authorities including the UK ASSAY OFFICES.

We sell 1000's of rings made from PALLADIUM every year and I can't recall a single instance of anyone being allegic to it in over 7 years.

PALLADIUM is in the same family of metals as PLATINUM and has an almost identical colour. Its slightly harder but a bit lighter.

The main difference is in the price - PALLADIUM is cheaper than PLATINUM by a big margin and even cheaper than white gold.

For instance a chunky gents ring costing £1000 in Platinum would be under £450 in Palladium!

A ladies 3mm ring in Platinum would be around £600 but only £250 in Palladium

    They look and feel identical.

These prices are not for specific rings but they do illustrate the difference.

Hope that helps and good luck with finding rings you love
