    Hello
Can anyone let me know if they know any venues in Merseyside, we are getting married in a church in St Helens, so dont want to put our guests out too much by asking them to drive miles, or spend money on a hotel for an over night stay

    Thanks xxx

I went to a wedding on Saturday in a "Women's Education Centre" called Blackwood House (I think) will check for you. It's on the same road as the Philharmonic Hall where there was also a wedding taking place.
Some of the guests had issues finding decently priced hotels because it was a match day so make sure that you check that one for the people who are gonna want to stay in Liverpool overnight and let them know in advance to book up the hotels as quickly as possible if it is on a match day x

Were hoping to find somewhere outside of Liverpool if we can, St Helens is a 20 min drive, so dont really want the guests to travel that far, or stay over, just incurrs more expense?? Its so hard though trying to find a venue near to home.......

I'm sorry I dont know St Helen's very well at all. I'm singing in St Helen's though at the end of April so I'll ask around some of the choir members if you've not found anything by then. I usually get sent to someone's house for tea so that's normally a good time for an area chat x

Hey Lucie, we havent thought of the Village but we have 3 venues to see, so if we dont like those, we can always try there, it doesnt help as I dont want a civil ceremony, H2B thinks its asking a lot for people to travel further afield after the church, he doesn have a point. His brother is getting married a week before Xmas, and thats in a country hotel, so all guest are forking out for rooms......

The thistle is amazing went there last week, they have got no dates for the marquee next summer tho but they have got the other room. It was a little out of our budget tho 7500 for 78 in day an 150 at night. The suites hotel knowsley is also really lovely only problem being they are puttin up their prices but cant tell you how much by but want a 500 deposit off you.

what about 'encore' on the east lancs road? the brochure i received was reasonably priced (pity i had already booked my venue by then). It would of been ideal for H2B and myself, as he is from kirkby and im a manc? Are you having a civil wedding?
