Oue menu's have gor to be chosen by us beforehand so our guests arent given a choice (unless we choose the hot buffet but then we only get a choice of starter OR dessert and thats another story lol)
What I am wondering is..would you still put a menu on the table so they know what they will be getting and if so would you do them one each or just do one on each table?
CommentAuthorPB
I am not sure that i would bother,i have been to a few weddings recently where we 'got what we were given' and nobody was at all concerned that they didn't know what it was going to be before they received it.In fact it was a nice suprise discovering what each course was when it arrived. If you are going to put a menu on the table though i would just put one in the middle,i think one each would look too cluttered and would create more work for you xxx

maybe you could just put the menu in to your invites? unless you've already done those? if they're not getting a choice i wouldnt bother putting them on the tables xxx

Yeah I have already done the invites, we still havent decided whether to go for the hot buffet or the set menu at least witht that they get a choice of 2 meats, 2 kinds of potato etc... i knew we didnt get a choice when we booked the place but i was too bloody excited about getting the place we wanted that we didnt care ;-( now i wish we has sat and discussed it with them a bit more, probably a bit late now hey!!
CommentAuthorFuture Mrs Doublé
I have sent my invites nearly a month before choosing menu, so I was wondering this as well, as we are not giving them a choice.
Soon to be Mrs Gary Doublé
Everything is now booked
Getting really stressed and excited now
We are having a buffet rather than a sit down meal, mostly due to lack of cash and we've quite a few children coming (nothing more boring for kids than sitting down for a meal lol) but everyone has said how great a buffet idea is, meaning they do have a selection of food rather than what we think they might like! maybe hot buffet could be an option? xxx

We are doing menus for the tables as I like to know what i'm eating - but wouldnt say they are essential We had the outside done with the invites and then we will print the inside once we have decided on the menu - not costing us much so we thought we might as well

Hmmm h2b would prefer the hot buffet, its just i really want to have three courses and we have to choose between a dessert or and starter, i suppose having the wedding cake as dessert would be an option xx
CommentAuthorJakesmummy
Nicsquared - are you just having one per table? x
CommentAuthor
maybe you could just ask to pay a little bit more to include a dessert? Im a bit biased as i really dont like the sit down meal bit of weddings...but maybe thats coz ive got to keep my very excitable twin boys entertained in the mean time lol! We dont have dessert on our menu at all so I'm going to speak to venue and ask if they can include it or if I can bring some of my own in xxx

Yeah I think I am going to ask to meet up with them and see what we can sort out, we are not to overly excited about the choice we have been given in the first place.. might have to take my dad with me , he is good at getting what he want out of people lol xx
CommentAuthorNicsquared
I cant remember if we went for one or 2 - i think it may have been 2 per table We had a illustration that we have on the outside but you could do something yourself really simply, we then have tracing paper which we will print the inserts on and then tie them together with a ribbon :)

we're having a buffet too, and last summer in the poundshop we found some silver bell palce card holders that we are using to write on what each thing is ie tune sandwich, ham frittata etc

We are putting the menus on the table I've got a few vegans do they are having there own menu. I said to H2B that is that I would like to do so we are making them out of the same card as the invites and place names so it all matches.
Cant wait until I become Mrs K

We are chooseing our menu too but when we are doing the invites we have given the guests a choice of two from starters and mains (dessert is our wedding cake) so we are going to put one menu on each table just to remind people what the choices were then i was thinking of putting what each guest choose on the back of their name card so they remember what they choose.....not sure yet!!
I might do away with the one menu on each table and just put it in the order of the days???? Sooooo many choices arrrrhhhh what to do???

If I were just having one option I'd either put the menu in the centre of the table or one menu beside the table planner x

I put menu cards on the tables, I made them myself. Because we had long table I put one either end and one in the middle, you don't have to have them though, I did because I like to know what i'm eating before it arrives lol

I'm sending out a menu with invites as got to order food before then will just have a list for reference on the day.
And for the celebration party putting mini flags on the food so people know what they are.

My friend put the menu on the table plan for people to look at as they went in, saves too much work for yourself and the tables having too much on them x

We didn't put menu's on the tables. We did ask for anyone with special dietary requirements to let us know beforehand and worked it in to what we fed them. I think everyone knew it was going to be a chinese buffet, though. xx

We're just having one option but our hotel will still do a menu for each place setting so that each guest can take it away with them as a wee keepsake x
Looking forward to becoming Mrs MacKay on 30th May 2013!! :)

i am putting the menu in our invites and in the rsvps asking if there are any special dietary requirements that would need to be accounted for that are not currently accounted for in the menu...
ie... are they vegetarian (we dont think we have any but ya need to ask).... are they diabetic and therefore would they prefer custard to ice cream..... are they lactose intolerant and need to have a menu that accomodates this. then when the rsvps are received we will order the number of meals needed that we have chosen then give the venue the special dietary requirements list also and see what they can come up with.... my grandparents are diabetic my son has some form of intorence to diary products h2bs nan has sensitive teeth and can not have ice cream
no matter what we will not be able to have everyone having the same meal and so if the venue cant accomodate this we simply wont book it lol
Find out who you are & do it on purpose!
CommentAuthorloustew2012
our venue is doing the menus as its part of the package and as far as weve seen its 2 per table. weve got a choice of 2 for the 3 courses the fourth course is a soup and weve only chosen 1 as i dont think everyone will eat it. nearer the time were going to ask guests to let us know about any dietary requirements etc as the venue said they would sort that out at our last meeting.
