I was aware that the wedding co-ordinator at the hotel had left in December so i booked an appt to meet the new one. I went last night and was furious to find out NO information about my wedding was in my file. all that was in there was a letter that had been sent to us to sign (which i didnt as the rooms on the letter were not the ones we had chosen!) and another letter with my signature on as this one was correct and a deposit receipt stapled to it. NO dates, NO package deals, No guest number NOTHING!! We are not the only couple this has happened to either apparently she knew she was leaving but didnt see if to put any information in the files.... i mean WTF!! I had booked flowers & chair covers through this lady with no record of where she got her quotes or if she had ordered them for us!!! i am furious! Our wedding is now booked but i will be harassing them to see where things are upto etc.. the new wedding co-ordinator seems nice enough but so did the other one! we would change my venue but we really love this one! sorry for another rant but so needed to!! xxx

just imagine if you didnt book that meeting and left it til later and someone else had booked.....nightmare! i keep having thoughts that will happen to me, think to put my mind at rest i will ring round all my bookings just to make sure lol hope you get things sorted without much more stress xx

i am aware its not the new ladies fault but i think its disgusting that it wasnt brought to light until i made an appt?!?!

That's awful hun, and I'm sure that if anything is seriously wrong that they will do their best to sort it with the minimum disruption to you - at the end of the day it's their reputation on the line, ev en if the woman who did this has since left.

That's dreadful! Sorry to hear that has happened to you hun. I hope everything gets sorted, they should give you something as compensation for the stress caused by their wedding planner not doing her job properly :S even if she has left!

Crikey! That isn't good. My wedding coordinator left too which is a shame because I really liked him and he paid attention to detail and was honest. He even pointed out to us how one of the carpets were damaged but to be honest we hadn't noticed it and it was the slightest tear that will be hidden by a table anyway. They are hoping to get them all replaced but can't guarantee if they can do it before we get married. Either way it isn't something that would ruin my day. I've met the new girl and she is nice and I'm sure she is capable of running the day. I just really liked the old one. I think he was gay and he just had one of them open personalities that you can really get a long with.

It might be worth speaking to someone where you are now and asking them to maybe notify the new hotel of this. If she asked them for a reference, they may have details of where she has gone now. Not sure they will do anything officially but if the person you speak to is as horrified as we all are, they may pass on a whisper anonymously. Either that or get a friend phone up, give a glowing statement of a wedding that they went to that the previous wedding co-ordinator dealt with and wanting to book an appointment with her now that she is getting married and when they say she is not there anymore, your mate could say that she really wanted this wedding co-ordinator and ask where she is now. Not sure either of these would work but if you can find out where she is working now, you could give them a heads up. Another idea is to get someone to phone around a few hotels saying that they are getting married and asking to speak to the wedding co-ordinator, then if it's not the right one, they could give false details and end the call. Once you have found the right one, phone the hotel back and notify them yourself. I know this sounds a bit stalker-ish but if the hotel have a heads up, they will be able to keep an eye on her. xxx
